As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you are a critical driver of the platform that powers video knowledge management for global universities and businesses. Operating as a senior individual contributor, you will design, automate, and operate scalable AWS cloud infrastructure supporting high application reliability, security, and performance. You will bridge the gap between high-velocity engineering and compliance standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001), ensuring our infrastructure posture is pragmatic, scalable, and built on Clarity over Complexity.
Driving an AI-first mindset, you will leverage modern automation alongside AI-assisted engineering practices (such as GitHub Copilot or Amazon Q) and predictive observability tools (AIOps) to eliminate operational toil, accelerate deployment pipelines, and simplify complex architectures.

Build & Scale Cloud Infrastructure: Design and operate resilient AWS environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CDK, or AWS CloudFormation.
Optimize CI/CD Pipelines: Engineer and maintain secure automated pipelines using GitHub Actions that test, package, and deploy software changes quickly and reliably.
Drive AI Integration: Incorporate AI coding assistants and automation tooling into infrastructure workflows to accelerate pipeline creation, infrastructure-as-code, scripting, and technical documentation.
Orchestrate Containers: Manage production container platforms using Docker and ECS/Fargate to ensure application scalability and uptime.
Enable Smart Observability: Implement AI-driven monitoring and anomaly detection systems (AIOps) using CloudWatch to catch and remediate issues before they affect users.
Embed DevSecOps: Implement cloud security practices (IAM, data encryption) and maintain audit readiness for SOC 2 and ISO 27001 frameworks.
Eliminate Operational Toil: Write clean, maintainable automation scripts in Python or Bash to streamline production management and reduce manual overhead.
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with software developers and architects to enhance cloud readiness, production troubleshooting, and support infrastructure needs for machine learning and AI workloads.
What Success Looks Like:
Within 3 Months: Familiarize yourself with Panopto’s AWS architecture and CI/CD pipelines; complete initial pipeline enhancements and take part in on-call rotations.
Within 6 Months: Lead the implementation of updated IaC modules and incorporate AI-assisted developer workflows.
Within 1 Year: Serve as a subject matter expert on automation and reliability; design self-healing infrastructure patterns (AIOps) that reduce incident response times and support evolving AI workloads.

The Foundation for Success:
Experience: 7+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Cloud Engineering supporting SaaS production environments.
Technical Leadership: A track record of leading large-scale infrastructure projects - cloud migrations, platform re-architectures, major CI/CD overhauls - including the planning, staging, and stakeholder work that makes them land without breaking production.
AWS Mastery: Deep expertise with core AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, ECS/EKS, and Lambda.
Infrastructure as Code: Demonstrated experience defining production infrastructure using Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation.
Containers & Orchestration: Proven experience administering production ECS, Fargate, or Kubernetes (Amazon EKS) and Docker container ecosystems.
Software & Scripting: Strong coding or scripting skills in Python and Bash.
AI Tooling: Hands-on experience integrating AI assistants (e.g., Claude) or automated tooling into daily workflows to increase productivity.
Security & Compliance: Practical understanding of cloud security fundamentals (IAM, encryption) and supporting audit frameworks like SOC 2 or ISO 27001.
What Sets You Apart:
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
Experience provisioning or optimizing cloud infrastructure for AI/ML workloads (e.g., GPU node management on EKS or vector databases).
Advanced experience with enterprise observability platforms (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana).
Demonstrated history of using predictive analytics or AI platforms to reduce Mean Time to Resolution (MTTR) during incidents.
