Our focus is on capturing civilizational levels of ultra-low-cost renewable energy for applications including computing and affordable renewable fuels delivered to shore.\nThe company is a public benefit corporation headquartered in Portland, Oregon, and backed by leading venture capitalists, philanthropic investors, university endowments, and private investment offices. We operate as an idea meritocracy in which the best ideas change the company’s direction on a regular basis.\nOur staff have worked at organizations such as SpaceX, Blue Origin, Boeing, Tesla, Apple, Virgin Orbit, Astra, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, New Relic, Bridgewater, Raytheon, Disney Imagineering, and the US Army and Air Force, as well as research universities, startups, and small companies across a range of industries.\nAbout the Job\nOur core technology is the node, a device that produces energy in the ocean’s harshest conditions for years at a time without human maintenance or intervention. \nWe've proven we can build Nodes in small quantities. This role exists to make the path to repeatable production move faster. Manufacturing Technology defines the qualification requirements for each Node manufacturing process and owns delivery of the qualified process set. You will track readiness against those requirements - maintaining visibility into where each process stands, what evidence is still outstanding, and what is blocking it - and coordinate the cross-functional execution planning that closes the gaps. Your primary deliverable is velocity: sequencing process development work, surfacing constraints before they bite, and keeping engineering effort pointed at the qualification gates that matter most to the pilot program\nThis role is based at our new Pilot Manufacturing campus in Vancouver, Washington - the facility where Ocean-3 Nodes stop being drawings and start being steel. We're standing up heavy fabrication, blast and coatings, and full Node integration, which means the process development work happens feet away from the weld seams and the paint booth. You'll help build the line that builds the fleet. \nCandidates should have strong interpersonal skills and be able to thrive in a creative, scrappy, and collaborative environment in which the best ideas change the company’s direction on a regular basis.\nResponsibilities\nManage project milestone schedules for pilot manufacturing process development, ensuring clear communication of status, risks, and dependencies to internal stakeholders.\nLead design and test sprint planning for the internal manufacturing team, balancing resource constraints and competing priorities across projects.\nDrive clear-to-build decisions, closing gaps across engineering release, material availability, tooling, and work instructions ahead of build start.\nSupport the transition from development to pilot production by facilitating manufacturing readiness reviews and DFM feedback to engineering.\nCollaborate with the internal procurement team, external suppliers, and fabrication partners to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of components.\nCoordinate new equipment and tooling readiness from delivery through qualification.\nMonitor and escalate program risks, while proactively contributing to mitigation strategies.\nDevelop and maintain documentation and tools that support production execution and scaling, in alignment with TPM best practices.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.\n2+ years of experience managing technical programs in a manufacturing process development environment, including direct responsibility for coordinating materials, equipment availability, and teams to support learning plan execution in a pilot production environment. \n5+ years working in hardware engineering or manufacturing engineering environments.\nProven track record of leading cross-functional teams to meet aggressive program timelines.\nDirect experience working with change management systems, PLM/MES/ERP tools, and configuration control processes.\nExperience coordinating external suppliers and fabrication partners.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting to senior leadership.\nComfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment.\nAbility to travel as needed for site visits and partner engagements.\nDesired Qualifications\nExperience across the full manufacturing lifecycle, from early development through pilot, ramp, and sustaining production.\nExperience standing up a new production line or manufacturing facility.\nStrong understanding of engineering fundamentals relevant to large welded or fabricated steel structures, with hands-on exposure to manufacturing workflows.\nExperience with hardware product development in startup or early-stage environments.\nThe above qualifications are desired, not required. We encourage you to apply if you are a strong candidate with only some of the desired skills and experience listed.\nAdditional Requirements\nTravel to vendors and test sites as needed\nIntermittently able to work longer hours and weekends to support critical needs. While we expect a lot of each other, we also offer a high degree of autonomy and work-life balance, including flexible PTO and flexible working hours.\nCompensation and Benefits\nIf hired for this full-time role, you will receive:\nCash compensation of $150,000 - $190,000.\nEquity in the company. We’re all owners and if we’re successful, this equity should be far and away the most valuable component of your compensation.\nA benefits package that helps you take care of yourself and your family, including:Flexible paid time off\nHealth insurance (the company pays 100% of gold-level PPO plan for full-time employees, their partners, and dependents)\nDental insurance (the company pays 100% for full-time employees, their partners, and dependents)\nVision insurance (the company pays 100% for full-time employees, their partners, and dependents)\nDisability insurance (the company pays 100% for a policy to provide long-term financial support if you become disabled)\nAbility to contribute to tax-advantaged accounts, including 401(k), health FSA, and dependent care FSA\n\nRelocation assistance to facilitate your move to Portland (if needed).\nLocation\nThis role is intended to be an on-site role based in our offices in Vancouver, WA.","description_format":"text","description_chars":6655,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Dental insurance","Equity","Flexible schedule","Health insurance","Relocation assistance","Vision insurance"],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":true,"industries":["Data Centers & Colocation","Marine & Ocean Engineering","AI Compute & Inference"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-09T02:23:25Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":90,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.903,"p_room":1,"age_days":10,"expected_fill_days":82,"reasons":["conf:2","velocity","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-19T05:45:15Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":190000,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/panthalassa-senior-technical-program-manager-vancouver-pilot-manufacturing","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/panthalassa-senior-technical-program-manager-vancouver-pilot-manufacturing.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-19T15:29:24Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":11523,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-20T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":10611},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=10611"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fpanthalassa-senior-technical-program-manager-vancouver-pilot-manufacturing"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fpanthalassa-senior-technical-program-manager-vancouver-pilot-manufacturing"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fpanthalassa-senior-technical-program-manager-vancouver-pilot-manufacturing"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/panthalassa-senior-technical-program-manager-vancouver-pilot-manufacturing\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fpanthalassa-senior-technical-program-manager-vancouver-pilot-manufacturing"}]}
