We are looking for someone who takes ownership of purchasing activities, understands the importance of material availability, and continuously identifies opportunities to improve procurement efficiency.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nPurchasing and Procurement\nPurchase maintenance, repair, and operating (MRO) materials, industrial supplies, equipment, and services required to support manufacturing operations.\n\nCreate, process, and manage purchase orders using the company's ERP system.\n\nReview purchase requisitions for accuracy, specifications, pricing, and delivery requirements.\n\nObtain competitive supplier quotations and evaluate vendors based on cost, quality, availability, and delivery performance.\n\nTrack open purchase orders and proactively follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery.\n\nSupport cost reduction initiatives through competitive sourcing, supplier negotiations, and purchasing process improvements.\n\nSupplier Management and Inventory Support\nDevelop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.\n\nCollaborate with Maintenance, Production, Operations, and Storeroom teams to identify purchasing requirements.\n\nMonitor inventory levels and support replenishment of critical maintenance and operating supplies.\n\nResolve purchasing discrepancies, supplier delivery issues, and invoice mismatches.\n\nAssist in evaluating supplier performance and identifying opportunities to improve reliability and service.\n\nProcess Improvement and Compliance\nMaintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, and procurement documentation.\n\nEnsure purchasing activities comply with established company policies and procedures.\n\nIdentify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency, inventory accuracy, and cost management.\n\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives across purchasing and supply chain operations.\n\nGenerate and maintain purchasing reports as needed.\n\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nMinimum of 1 year of professional purchasing, buying, or procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.\n\nHands-on experience creating, processing, and tracking purchase orders.\n\nKnowledge of purchasing procedures, vendor communication, pricing, and order fulfillment.\n\nExperience using ERP, purchasing, or inventory management systems.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.\n\nStrong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication abilities.\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\n\nAbility to work onsite at our Leetsdale, PA facility.\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or a related field.\n\nTwo or more years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.\n\nExperience purchasing MRO supplies, industrial equipment, maintenance parts, or manufacturing materials.\n\nFamiliarity with SAP, Oracle, Infor, or similar ERP systems.\n\nExperience with supplier negotiations, inventory management, and procurement cost reduction initiatives.\n\nBackground in metals manufacturing, steel, copper, heavy industrial equipment, or related industries.\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nThis position operates primarily in an office setting within an active manufacturing facility. The MRO Buyer will collaborate regularly with purchasing, maintenance, production, and warehouse personnel.\nOccasional visits to the manufacturing floor or storeroom may be required.
