Organizations including Clorox and the United Nations drive results through accelerated development and real-time publishing using Pantheon’s collaborative workflows.\nThe Role\nAs a Sales Engineer at Pantheon, you will partner closely with Sales Account Teams to demonstrate the value and technical capabilities of the Pantheon platform.\nThis role is designed for a hands-on practitioner who can build, troubleshoot, explain, and sell modern web experiences. You will translate complex technical requirements into clear, compelling solutions and help prospects understand how Pantheon can support their business goals.\nYou will be part of a founding team bringing a promising new product to market-one with the potential to disrupt an established category. Because the team is building the product, market, and sales motion at the same time, you may occasionally need to work outside the traditional boundaries of the Sales Engineer role-helping create demos, improve documentation, shape messaging, support early customers, or solve whatever problem is most important that week.\nYou will play a critical role in qualifying and closing customers while working closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Customer teams, and agency partners. You will help onboard design and development teams at client and partner organizations, enabling them to understand the product, build effectively, and deliver successful customer experiences. You will influence how prospects, clients, and partners understand and adopt Pantheon, contribute field insight to product direction, and help evolve how Pantheon positions its technical value in the market.\nThe Sales Engineer owns technical discovery, solution design, demonstrations, and the technical win. Implementation Engineers may support deeper configuration, development, and delivery work, but the Sales Engineer must be technically credible enough to build and debug demonstrations, understand architectural tradeoffs, and earn the trust of technical buyers.\nWhat you’ll do\nPartner effectively with Account Executives to uncover customer needs and map solutions to business outcomes in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.\nDeliver customized product demonstrations and technical presentations, both remotely and on site, that clearly communicate technical value and business impact.\nBuild and maintain hands-on demonstrations, prototypes, and proof-of-concepts that show how Pantheon solves real customer problems.\nLead discovery sessions to understand customer requirements, technical environments, and existing development workflows.\nWork directly in the product and code when needed to validate workflows, troubleshoot issues, and show how Pantheon fits into a customer’s environment.\nIdentify, surface, and resolve technical blockers throughout the sales cycle.\nComplete RFPs, RFIs, and security and technical questionnaires in support of procurement processes.\nClearly articulate return on investment and technical value to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nCollaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer teams to influence platform direction and customer experience.\nSecure the technical win for assigned opportunities.\nDevelop and maintain subject matter expertise in key technical areas, particularly modern web infrastructure, composable architectures, and AI-assisted development.\nContribute to internal enablement by sharing customer insights, field learnings, demonstrations, and best practices across teams.\nWhat you bring to the table\n6+ years of hands-on experience developing, deploying, or supporting modern websites and web applications, including customer-facing technical work.\nExperience developing on Drupal, WordPress, and React/Next.js.\nComfort with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, including using them to build, debug, and iterate on working web experiences.\nStrong presentation and facilitation skills, including the ability to lead compelling technical demonstrations and explain architectural tradeoffs clearly.\nAbility to translate technical concepts into clear business value.\nStrong technical curiosity and a continuous learning mindset.\nComfort working with evolving products, incomplete documentation, and early customer feedback.\nAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.\nNice to have\nExperience with decoupled content stores such as Contentful or Sanity.\nExperience with headless or decoupled architectures.\nDeep experience with Next.js or other modern JavaScript web frameworks.\nContributions to open-source projects, especially in the WordPress, Drupal, React, or Next.js ecosystems.\nWhat We Offer \nWe have all the usual perks and benefits but what we can really offer you is a fantastic work environment powered by an amazing team.\nIndustry competitive compensation and equity plan\nFlexible time off, sick days, and 13 paid holidays\nComprehensive medical insurance including Health, Dental and Vision\nPaid parental leave (plus fertility, adoption and other family planning benefits)\nIn-office workspace (San Francisco & Chicago)\nMonthly allowance for wellness, reading and access to LinkedIn Learning for continued development\nEvents and activities both team-based and company wide that inspire, educate and cultivate\nCompensation\nThe OTE range for this position is USD $123,000 - $153,900.\nFinal compensation will be determined based on factors including role scope, relevant experience, and geographic location.\nPantheon is an equal opportunity employer and we welcome applications from all backgrounds regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, disability, or any other classification protected by law. Pantheon complies with federal and local disability laws and makes reasonable accommodations for applicants and employees with disabilities. If you need a reasonable accommodation due to a disability for any part of the interview process, please contact . Pursuant to local and federal regulations, Pantheon will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records for employment.\nAfter an offer is made and accepted, E-verify will be utilized to establish your identity and employment eligibility as required by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.\nTo review the Employee and Applicant's Privacy Policy, click here.\nVisa Sponsorship is not available at this time.","description_format":"text","description_chars":6996,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":6,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Continuous learning","Equity","Flexible time off","Health insurance","Parental leave"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"},{"name":"Canada","iso":"CA","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["CMS & Digital Experience Platforms","Web Hosting & VPS"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-25T18:22:47Z"}],"liveness":{"score":62,"band":"ok","label":"Likely open","p_open":1,"p_active":0.693,"p_room":0.9,"age_days":19,"expected_fill_days":30,"reasons":["conf:11","velocity","win:mid"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:45:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":153900,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/pantheon-systems-inc-sales-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/pantheon-systems-inc-sales-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-02T01:20:15Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":1604,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":3396,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-03T00:00:00Z"}}}
