The Buyer is responsible for evaluating purchase requisitions and purchasing materials with approved vendors.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nEvaluate purchase requisitions and supplier quotes to ensure materials, items, and services are sourced from qualified and approved suppliers in accordance with the Approved Vendor List (AVL).\nIssue requests for quotes (RFQs) and select commercial suppliers that meet vendor selection requirements.\nNegotiate pricing for all non-standard purchases.\nAnalyze inventory levels to determine appropriate stock quantities prior to placing orders.\nOptimize freight and material costs by evaluating ordering and logistics methods.\nCreate purchase orders aligned with material requirements, budget constraints, and project schedules.\nEnsure all required documentation (drawings, technical specifications, test plans, etc.) is provided to suppliers.\nCommunicate with suppliers to track delivery status and expedite or escalate issues as needed.\nCollaborate with Receiving to ensure materials are properly prioritized and accurately received into the ERP system.\nResolve material and documentation discrepancies with suppliers to enable timely material receipt.\nReconcile purchase orders with supplier invoices and partner with Accounts Payable to support timely payment processing.\nProcess returns and coordinate with suppliers to replace, repair, or rework nonconforming material in an expedited manner; follow up on credits.\nMaintain ERP inventory accuracy, including part numbers and item descriptions.\nUpdate and track procurement tasks within the project management system.\nEvaluate supplier performance by monitoring on-time delivery metrics and deficiency reports.\nLead supplier meetings as required to support customers, project teams, and management.\nParticipate in project kick-off and material planning meetings for complex programs.\nEffectively manage a variety of tasks and problems with diverse scope and complexity.\nAssess and implement continuous improvement principles and techniques.\nRequirements:\nEducation:Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.\n3-5 years of experience performing procurement functions.\n\nBackground in aerospace, nuclear, or defense industries with a strong understanding of regulatory compliance preferred.\nMinimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment with knowledge of manufacturing processes.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.\nProven ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-accountability environment.\nAbility to work with urgency and consistently meet deadlines.\nDetail-oriented, analytical, organized, and adaptable to changing priorities.\nDemonstrated ethical decision-making with a commitment to safety and quality.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, and project management tools.\nWhy Paragon?\nAt Paragon, our mission is to lower the carbon footprint through innovative nuclear programs that are safe, sustainable, and economical.
