We are a\nsmall, founder-led business with a shop and an online store. We're looking for\na Shop Manager to run the store day to day and make it a warm, beautiful place\nto shop.\n\nROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nCustomer Service\n\nWelcome customers warmly, offer assistance, and\nanswer questions about products and services.\nProvide product knowledge and make\nrecommendations to support customer needs.\nAssist customers with purchases and orders,\nincluding processing payments accurately.\nAddress customer complaints and inquiries\npromptly, resolving issues to maintain satisfaction, and report all complaints\nto management.\nProcess returns, exchanges and refunds in line\nwith store policy.\nManage the business WhatsApp account, replying\npromptly to customer enquiries, order updates and product requests in the\nbrand's tone.\nEnsure a pleasant shopping environment by being\npolite, attentive, and well presented at all times.\nOffer upselling and cross-selling suggestions\nwhere appropriate to increase sales.\nSupport basic administrative duties (e.g.,\nmaintaining customer records, updating databases).\n\nStore Operations\n\nAct as key holder, opening and closing the store\non time and following all security procedures.\nMaintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment in\nthe shop, stockroom, and surrounding areas (including storefront and parking).\nEnsure air-conditioning, music, lighting, and\noverall ambiance are functioning and welcoming, and report any maintenance or\nrepair needs to management.\nManage consumables and packaging supplies (bags,\nwrapping paper, bubble wrap, etc.), advising when re-orders are required.\nCarry out the safe and professional packaging of\nproducts.\nGift wrap items as required and manage\nregistries on an ad-hoc basis.\nAdhere to all health, safety, and hygiene\nstandards within the store.\n\nMerchandising & Display\n\nAssist with shop displays, ensuring shelves and\nstockrooms are clean, organised, and visually appealing.\nChange product displays regularly, respecting\nestablished merchandising principles (e.g., grouping by theme, colour, or\ncategory).\nTag and label products accurately with prices\nand promotional information.\nInform customers about new arrivals,\nbestsellers, and upcoming products according to order sheets.\nSupport the creation of marketing content,\ncatalogues and visual merchandising, both in store and online, on an ad hoc\nbasis when requested.\n\nStock & Inventory Management\n\nReceive deliveries, unload products, and check\nthem against delivery notes.\nRecord deliveries accurately in the system and\nprepare stock for display.\nLoad new stock items and supplier bills onto the\nsystem.\nInform management when items need to come from\nthe storage/warehouse before they run out in store.\nPrepare and pack online and click-and-collect\norders for dispatch or collection.\nCarry out regular stock counts, including\nquarterly full stock takes, and report discrepancies or damages to management.\nMonitor inventory levels and highlight low stock\nfor reordering.\n\nSales & Performance\n\nWork towards monthly sales targets and share\nideas to grow in-store sales.\nGive feedback to management on customer trends,\nbest-selling products, and requests for items we don't currently stock.\n\nCash Handling & Reporting\n\nProcess transactions accurately via cash, card,\nand other payment methods.\nManage the cash float and secure daily takings\naccording to store procedure.\nReconcile daily sales against invoices and\npayment records (cash, card, Juice, etc.).\nReport and monitor outstanding payments.\nPrepare daily sales and reconciliation reports\nfor management review.\n\nTeam Leadership\n\nRecruit, train and manage temporary and seasonal\nstaff, including onboarding and product training.\nPlan staff rotas and cover for busy periods,\nholidays and events.\nLead by example on customer service,\npresentation and store procedures.\n\nJOB REQUIREMENTS\nExperience & Skills\n\nAt least 2–3 years of retail experience, ideally\nin homeware, interiors, fashion or lifestyle. Supervisory experience is an\nadvantage.\nExcellent customer service skills, with a warm,\nprofessional manner.\nFluent in English and French. Creole is an\nadvantage.\nGood with numbers and confident handling cash,\ncard payments and daily reconciliations.\nComfortable using computers, POS systems and\ninventory software, as well as WhatsApp Business and basic email. Proficiency\nin Zoho Books is an advantage.\nA good eye for design, display and presentation,\nand a genuine interest in interiors and homeware.\n\nPersonal Attributes\n\nReliable, punctual and trustworthy, able to act\nas key holder.\nWell organised, with strong attention to detail.\nProactive and able to work on your own, using\ngood judgement when management isn't on site.\nWell presented, positive and a good team player.\n\nPractical Requirements\n\nAvailable to work weekends, public holidays and\nbusy seasonal periods as needed.\nAble to lift and move stock and deliveries.
