Under indirect supervision, the Machinist will set up and operate a variety of manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision parts that meet engineering specifications and quality standards.\nThe ideal candidate has hands-on machining experience, strong blueprint-reading skills, and the ability to use precision measuring equipment. Experience with CNC grinding is highly preferred.\nPay Rate: $18.75 to $30 an hour DOE\nShift: 1st shift\nKey Responsibilities\nAnalyze blueprints, technical drawings, sketches, and job specifications to determine machining requirements, including tooling, speeds, feeds, and machining processes.\nSet up and operate manual and CNC machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses.\nSet up and operate CNC grinding equipment, including loading and adjusting tooling and managing CNC programs.\nUpload, download, and edit CNC grinding programs to optimize cutting conditions, improve cycle times, and maintain part accuracy.\nMonitor machine settings, tool offsets, and grinding wheel conditions to ensure consistent quality.\nSelect appropriate grinding wheels, abrasives, tooling, and cutting conditions based on material and application.\nUse precision measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators to inspect parts during and after production.\nAdjust machine setups, tooling, and offsets as needed to produce parts to print specifications.\nPerform routine machine maintenance to support safe, reliable, and efficient operation.\nMaintain accurate production records, tooling setup sheets, inspection documentation, and other required records.\nTroubleshoot machining issues and work with engineering and production teams to improve processes and resolve problems.\nTrain and support operators in CNC grinding procedures and standard work instructions.\nFollow all applicable safety procedures, quality standards, and manufacturing practices.\nPerform other related duties as assigned.\nRequirements\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nOne year of CNC machining experience or CNC certification preferred.\nExperience setting up and operating CNC equipment, particularly CNC grinding equipment, preferred.\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, technical drawings, and job specifications.\nKnowledge of machining processes, tooling, materials, and inspection techniques.\nProficiency using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and optical comparators.\nStrong understanding of general mathematics, including fractions and decimals.\nAbility to work quickly while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills in English.\nAbility to work independently as well as effectively within a team environment.\nStrong organizational skills and commitment to accurate documentation and quality control.\nParallel Employment Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer","description_format":"text","description_chars":3215,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":null,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[{"language":"English","level":"All levels","optional":false}]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":[],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-22T23:12:23Z"}],"liveness":{"score":57,"band":"ok","label":"Likely open","p_open":1,"p_active":0.568,"p_room":1,"age_days":0,"expected_fill_days":49,"reasons":["conf:1","agency","urgency","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-09-23T05:45:00Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":60000,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/parallel-employment-group-machinist","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/parallel-employment-group-machinist.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-09-23T21:03:20Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers"}}
