The role suits someone who combines technical depth with strong judgement, delivery focus and the ability to solve problems independently.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, build and maintain high-quality Power BI reports, dashboards and semantic models that support operational, commercial and strategic decision-making.\nDevelop robust data models, relationships and DAX measures, ensuring reporting solutions are performant, reliable, secure and scalable.\nUse SQL to query, investigate, troubleshoot and optimise complex or imperfectly documented data environments.\nWork with stakeholders to understand business questions, clarify requirements, challenge assumptions where appropriate and translate needs into practical BI solutions.\nApply strong data visualisation and storytelling principles so reports clearly highlight trends, exceptions, context and recommended areas of focus.\nPlan and deliver BI projects or significant work packages independently, managing priorities, dependencies, testing, risks and communication throughout.\nTake ownership of complex problems from investigation through to resolution, identifying practical options and escalating appropriately when needed.\nContribute to development standards, documentation, peer review, knowledge sharing and mentoring across the BI team\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\nYou will be an experienced BI professional with a strong track record of delivering Power BI solutions in a complex data environment. You will be comfortable working independently, making sound technical decisions and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.\nAdvanced Power BI development experience, including report design, data modelling, DAX, relationships, optimisation and maintaining production reporting solutions.\nStrong SQL skills, including the ability to write, troubleshoot and optimise complex queries.\nExperience investigating data quality, data structure and business logic issues in unfamiliar or complex environments.\nAbility to turn complex data into clear, accessible and decision-focused insight for different audiences.\nProven experience planning and delivering BI, analytics or data projects to agreed timescales.\nStrong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to interpret, clarify and challenge requirements.\nGood judgement, accountability and problem-solving capability, with the confidence to progress work independently.\nCommitment to high standards in testing, documentation, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.\nWorking Style\nThis role requires someone who can balance technical delivery with collaboration.
