Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible.Job Description:\nParsons is seeking a talented CBA - Construction Quality Inspector I to join our team at the Faro Mine Remediation Project. In this role, you will provide oversight, monitoring, and control of subcontractors working on construction sites.\nThis position operates on a rotational schedule of two weeks on and two weeks off, with 12-hour shifts.\nEmployees receive a LOA allowance and are responsible for providing their own meals.\nThis position is covered by the United Steelworkers Local 925 collective bargaining agreement. The hourly wage is $33.80\nWhat You'll Be Doing:\nAssist in applying principles, methods, and techniques of construction technology. \nReview project specifications and coordinate with appropriate personnel regarding plan preparation, acceptance testing, field conditions, design changes, and required reports. \nInspect and monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with contract requirements, specifications, drawings, and applicable standards. \nEnsure contractors comply with approved health, safety, and environmental plans. \nOversee the quality assurance and quality control activities performed by contractors. \nVerify that quality control plans are followed and witness, verify, and approve work in accordance with Inspection and Test Plans. \nCoordinate testing requirements with contractors and independent third-party testing agencies. \nCommunicate effectively with construction subcontractors assigned to each project. \nParticipate in Contractor Acceptance Inspections as required. \nMaintain a construction diary documenting the status of assigned tasks. \nPrepare and submit weekly progress reports and participate in weekly construction meetings. \nCommunicate daily with the MCM Superintendent. \nConduct inspections to confirm compliance with contract documents, technical drawings, and specifications. \nReview contractor schedules and monitor progress. \nEscort contractors as required. \nIdentify potential construction issues and recommend appropriate resolutions. \nDocument daily construction progress through written reports and photographs. \nAssist in evaluating Contemplated Change Notices and claims, providing recommendations to the Project Manager or MCM Superintendent. \nInspect or monitor the installation and testing of Concrete, Masonry, Reinforcing steel, Shotcrete, Structural steel and welding, Fireproofing, Soils and aggregate, Concrete and asphaltic concrete, Grading and related earthwork \nReview and approve LEMS on a daily basis. \nPrepare daily reports using the Project Management Information System. \nPerform other duties and responsibilities related to the position, as assigned. \nWhat Required Skills You'll Bring:\nGeneral knowledge and understanding of construction activities related to one or more of the following: Heavy civil construction, Electrical systems, Mechanical systems, including process and building mechanical, Structural construction, Instrumentation and controls, or HVAC systems. \nConstruction field experience. \nAbility to apply basic engineering techniques and analysis within a relevant discipline, with the flexibility to work across multiple disciplines. \nAbility to interpret drawings, specifications, and other contract documents and verify that work is constructed accordingly. \nBasic computer skills, including proficiency with: Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Construction scheduling software \nAbility to understand and apply project specifications, plans, and drawings. \nExperience performing quality assurance and quality control functions. \nAbility to oversee the activities of multiple subcontractors. \nStrong conflict-resolution and communication skills. \nAbility to monitor and maintain subcontractor compliance with drawings, specifications, and applicable standards. \nAbility to work independently and as part of a team. \nAbility to operate independently and effectively in field environments. \nDemonstrated ability to prepare accurate reports and project documentation. \nValid Class 5 driver’s license. \nAbility to lift up to 25 kg. \nThis position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.For more than 80 years, our experts have designed and delivered the critical infrastructure that connects and protects communities around the world.
