In this role you will be given an opportunity to work across a wide variety of projects and further develop skills and leadership expertise. This role will see the successful candidate being involved with a range of projects with technical expertise in stormwater drainage design, sustainable drainage design, detailed design, and hydrologic and hydraulic modeling.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nIndependently carry out design of stormwater drainage systems for various projects.\n\nManage design of non-conventional/smartdrainage systems and Sustainable Urban Drainage systems.\n\nInvestigating and developing stormwater drainage designs with minimum supervision, based on principles of urban drainage design, SuDS, and Water sensitive design.\n\nHydraulic and System design of the complex environment to meet site-specific requirements.\n\nUnderstanding the biological and physical process of stormwater management.\n\nApplying innovative ideas, technology, and value engineering solutions.\n\nSupervision and support to junior engineers.\n\nUndertake hydrologic modeling, calculations, drawings, and report writing.\n\nWork across all stages of a project, taking a high level of responsibility but under the coaching and support of our senior engineers.\n\nCoordinating with the CAD / BIM / 3-D modeling teams on projects.\n\nPerforms other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.\n\nWhat Required Skills You’ll Bring\nDegree in Civil/Environmental/Hydrology and or Water Engineeringfrom a reputable university\n\nMinimum 5+ years experience related to infrastructure and civil engineering projects, water engineering, including stormwater drainage design, catchment analysis, stormwater management, and planning.\n\nSound knowledge of principles of hydrology and hydraulics.\n\nExperience of designing culverts, urban drainage systems and highway drainage is required.\n\nDemonstrated understanding of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling/design software packages used in the design of surface drainage, piped networks, cross drainage, and flood analysis, i.e., CAD skills, SWMM, HEC RAS, and HEC-HMS knowledge.\n\nExperience with Infoworks ICM would be an added advantage.\n\nExcellent command with GIS and CAD tools such as ArcMap, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microstation.\n\nThe capability of mathematics to create calculation sheets and perform further calculations where required to ensure the design is appropriate.\n\nKnowledge of Water Sensitive Design and Sustainable Drainage Design (SuDS).\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\n\nExcellent organizational skills.\n\nA collegiate, team-player attitude.\n\nWhat Desired Skills You'll Bring:\nMaster's Degree in Water Engineering/Hydrologywould be an advantage.\n\nChartered Engineer (CEng) qualified (or equivalent) or well-progressed towards qualification.\n\nCandidates working towards professional qualifications (PE, ICE, CIWEM, etc.) will be preferred.\n\nPrior experience in GCC market/projects.\n\nParsons equally employs representation at all job levels no matter the race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age, disability or genetic information.We truly invest and care about our employee’s wellbeing and provide endless growth opportunities as the sky is the limit, so aim for the stars!
