Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible.Job Description:\nWe are seeking a high-calibre, senior-levelHealth, Safety & Environment Manager to lead HS&E across a major rail infrastructure project. This is a key leadership role for an experienced professional with a proven track record of delivering HS&E excellence on large-scale, multi-million-dollar civil engineering or infrastructure projects. Reporting directly to theProject Director, you will lead the HS&E function and drive the implementation of a robust, proactive management strategy across every stage of the project. You will be strategic in approach, but equally comfortable being hands-on and visible across the project environment. With the credibility and gravitas to influence a complex matrix organization, you will build strong relationships with senior management, project teams, contractors and the client. You will champion a culture of continuous improvement and bring the project to life through a genuine commitment to ourZero Harm philosophy.\nThis is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven HS&E leader who is passionate about delivering one of the region’s most significant rail projects.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nResponsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:\n\nSupporting the Leadership Team, comprising of the Project Manager, Deputy Project Manager and Package Managers in driving and implementing the HS&E efforts on the project\n\nImplementing and monitoring initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness in the HSE services and delivery\n\nPlanning and coordinating continuous improvement HSE actions for all phases of the project to share good practice, feedback experiences and drive best practice, typically through continuous improvement workshops, lessons learnt reviews\n\nManaging a team of HSE professionals\n\nOverseeing and reviewing the HSE requirements of the design-build (DB) contactors in matters such as such as contract compliance, RAMS and permits to work\n\nAuditing, monitoring and reporting project and DB contractor HSE performance\n\nReviewing, implementing and maintaining the management systems for HSE, in line with regulatory standards\n\nEnsuring the project team follows the relevant legislation, engineering and construction codes and standards\n\nLeading, developing and updating the HSE policies, plans and procedure to comply as a minimum with the joint venture standards, local and international legal requirements\n\nDeveloping and implementing Emergency Preparedness Plan (EPP’s), Emergency Operating Procedure (EOP’s) and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP’s)\n\nIdentifying hazards and assessing safety risk, developing strategies to ensure products, system and applications are safe and reliable\n\nPreparing HSE documents and processes such as Risk Assessment and Safe Systems of Work\n\nInvestigating and ensuring action to eliminate the cause of potential non-conformities to prevent their occurrence\n\nReporting all cases of non-conformity\n\nIdentifying then eliminating the root cause and prevent recurrences\n\nLeading the investigation team of serious incident and accident reports\n\nPreparing and submitting reports and follow-up in preventative and corrective actions\n\nWhat Required Skills You’ll Bring\nMinimum of 15 years experience on a heavy civils engineering project\n\nExperience leading a team of HS&E professionals\n\nNEBOSH, IOSH, IEMA, IRCA or equivalent\n\nRegistered Lead Auditor\n\nAbility to deliver in a highly pressurized & fast paced environment\n\nAbility to build relationships across all levels of the organization\n\nEffective communication skills including the ability to make persuasive presentations to small and large audiences\n\nWhat Desired Skills You’ll Bring\nExperience on metros, rail or related project\n\nExperience on tunneling projects\n\nHave obtained a suitable Environmental Management Qualification\n\nParsons equally employs representation at all job levels no matter the race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age, disability or genetic information.We truly invest and care about our employee’s wellbeing and provide endless growth opportunities as the sky is the limit, so aim for the stars!
