In this role you will be responsible for leading the design, analysis, coordination, and execution of steel structural engineering projects. This role requires extensive technical expertise in structural steel systems, strong leadership capabilities, and a collaborative approach to ensure the successful delivery of projects within scope, budget, and schedule.\n\nThe ideal candidate will lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with clients, architects, fabricators, contractors, and other stakeholders, and ensure that all steel structure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations. Experience in stadiums, large public venues, complex buildings, or major infrastructure projects is strongly preferred due to the specialized nature of these projects.\nWhat You'll Be Doing:\n\nLead and manage steel structural engineering projects from conceptual design through detailed design, fabrication, erection, and final completion.\nProvide technical direction, guidance, and mentorship to structural engineers, designers, and project teams.\nCoordinate with project managers, architects, civil engineers, MEP disciplines, contractors, fabricators, and other stakeholders to meet project requirements.\nEstablish project deliverables, review requirements, and engineering priorities to support successful project execution.\nMonitor project progress, technical performance, deliverables, budgets, and schedules.\nLead the analysis and design of structural steel systems, including buildings, industrial structures, stadiums, long-span structures, platforms, canopies, trusses, pipe racks, and other complex steel assemblies.\nPerform and review structural calculations for gravity, lateral, seismic, wind, thermal, fatigue, and other applicable loading conditions.\nDesign and review steel members, frames, trusses, bracing systems, connections, base plates, anchor bolts, and other structural components.\nDevelop design criteria, structural schemes, load paths, design calculations, specifications, and engineering reports.\nReview and approve structural steel drawings, fabrication drawings, erection drawings, connection details, material specifications, and technical submittals.\nUtilize advanced structural analysis and design software to develop efficient, safe, and constructible solutions.\nEnsure design interfaces are properly coordinated with foundations, concrete structures, architectural elements, equipment, and building services.\nEnsure steel structure designs comply with applicable local, national, and international codes and standards, including AISC, ASCE, Eurocodes, BS standards, AWS, and other project-specific requirements.\nInterpret project specifications, client requirements, design criteria, and applicable regulatory standards.\nEnsure structural systems meet strength, stability, serviceability, durability, fire protection, constructability, and performance requirements.\nReview design assumptions, calculations, models, drawings, and specifications for technical accuracy and compliance.\nSupport the preparation and resolution of technical deviations, design clarifications, and engineering change notices.\nLead design reviews, interdisciplinary coordination reviews, constructability reviews, value engineering exercises, and risk assessments.\nImplement quality control procedures to maintain the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of engineering deliverables.\nReview engineering deliverables prepared by internal teams, consultants, fabricators, and subcontractors.\nIdentify potential design issues, clashes, constructability constraints, and risks, and develop practical mitigation measures.\nEnsure all technical documentation is completed in accordance with project quality management procedures.\nCoordinate with steel fabricators and contractors regarding fabrication methods, connection details, tolerances, material requirements, and erection sequencing.\nReview fabrication and erection drawings, material certificates, welding procedures, inspection and testing requirements, and nonconformance reports.\nProvide technical support during fabrication, delivery, and erection activities.\nConduct site visits and inspections to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.\nRespond to requests for information, technical queries, field changes, and design-related construction issues.\nSupport the resolution of erection constraints, temporary works requirements, field modifications, and interface issues.\nLiaise with clients, contractors, fabricators, consultants, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to resolve technical issues and provide effective solutions.\nPrepare and present technical reports, design reviews, progress updates, calculations, and project documentation to stakeholders.\nFoster effective collaboration across engineering, construction, procurement, project controls, and commercial teams.\nParticipate in design coordination meetings, progress meetings, technical workshops, and client presentations.\nMaintain strong communication with project stakeholders throughout the design and construction lifecycle.\nIdentify and implement innovative, economical, and constructible steel structural solutions.\nPromote the use of efficient design methodologies, modularization, prefabrication, digital engineering, and Building Information Modeling workflows.\nStay current with developments in steel materials, connection design, fabrication technology, erection methods, structural analysis software, and relevant codes and standards.\nSupport lessons-learned initiatives and continuous improvement of engineering processes, tools, and deliverables.\nContribute to the development of engineering standards, design guidelines, templates, and best practices.\nWhat Required Skills You'll Bring:\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.\nMinimum of 18 years of experience in structural steel engineering, including significant experience in technical leadership roles.\nExtensive experience in the analysis, design, detailing, fabrication, and erection of steel structures.\nStrong knowledge of structural steel behavior, member design, connection design, stability, load paths, structural systems, and constructability.\nProficiency in structural analysis and design software, such as STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, Tekla Structural Designer, or equivalent platforms.\nStrong knowledge of applicable structural design codes and standards, including AISC, ASCE, Eurocodes, BS standards, AWS, and project-specific requirements.\nExperience reviewing structural steel fabrication drawings, erection drawings, connection details, and technical submittals.\nUnderstanding of steel fabrication processes, welding, bolting, inspection, testing, tolerances, corrosion protection, fire protection, and erection methodologies.\nStrong project management, technical coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nProven leadership and team management capabilities.\nAnalytical, organized, and detail-oriented mindset.\nStrong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic project environment.\nAbility to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, fabricators, and consultants.\nWhat Desired Skills You'll Bring:\nMaster’s degree in Structural Engineering is preferred.\nExperience with complex steel structures, long-span systems, industrial structures, stadiums, large public venues, or major infrastructure projects is strongly preferred.\nProfessional engineering registration or equivalent
