Parsons is seeking a mid-level Linux Systems Administrator to support Linux-based workstations and servers in both physical and virtual environments. In this role, you’ll perform daily system checks, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the reliability and efficiency of our infrastructure.\nThis position requires a proactive problem-solver who can think critically, adapt to challenges, and provide solutions under minimal supervision. If you’re ready to take your career to the next level, we’d love to hear from you!\nRoles and Responsibilities:\nAs a Linux Systems Administrator, your key responsibilities will include:\nUser Support: Manage new user onboarding, workstation imaging, and configuration.\nIssue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve remote user and system infrastructure issues.\nInfrastructure Monitoring: Monitor and optimize system performance and reliability.\nSystem Upgrades: Plan and coordinate system outages and upgrades.\nNetwork Maintenance: Monitor and maintain network systems.\nEquipment Installation: Install server and network equipment in a data center environment.\nDocumentation: Document infrastructure architecture changes and updates.\nHelpDesk Support: Resolve user requests and issues reported to the HelpDesk.\nAfter-Hours Support: Occasionally support after-hours system upgrades.\nRequired Skills:\nTo succeed in this role, you will need:\nClearance: Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required.\n Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related discipline and a minimum of 8 years of professional experience (additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be considered)\n Must have a minimum of:3+ years of experience with Linux operating systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.\nExperience maintaining virtual environments and deploying Linux services.\nUnderstanding of basic networking technologies (TCP/IP, UDP, Firewall).\n\nDesired Skills:\nWhile not required, the following skills are highly desirable:\nVirtualization: Familiarity with virtualization and Docker technologies.\nAutomation Tools: Experience with automation technologies such as Salt, Ansible, or Puppet.\nAtlassian Software: Proficiency with tools like Confluence and JIRA.\nOpen-Source Expertise: Experience with a wide variety of open-source software and utilities.\nIdentity Management: Experience managing FreeIPA or LDAP-based systems.\nNetwork Security: Background in network security, intrusion detection, and server monitoring.\nRack Installation: Familiarity with server and networking equipment rack installations.\nSecurity Clearance Requirement:\nAn active Top Secret SCI w/Polygraph security clearance is required for this position.This position is part of our Federal Solutions team.The Federal Solutions segment delivers resources to our US government customers that ensure the success of missions around the globe.
