Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible.Job Description:\nParsons is seeking a Senior Nuclear Process Engineer to support nuclear facility projects and existing site operations in Richland, Washington. This role focuses on delivering high-quality process design, providing process engineering support for ongoing site projects, coordinating across disciplines, and driving project execution from concept through detailed design. The selected candidate must be located in Richland or willing to relocate to the area.\nWhat You'll Be Doing:\nProvide site-based process engineering support for existing projects and ongoing activities at the Richland facility\nWork closely with site engineering, operations, maintenance, and project teams to resolve process-related issues and support facility needs\nSupport facility modifications, equipment upgrades, capacity improvements, process optimization, and brownfield projects\nLead development of process deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs, heat and material balances, equipment data sheets, process calculations, and design basis documents\nPerform process and hydraulic modeling to support design decisions, equipment sizing, and system performance\nSupport feasibility studies, conceptual design, detailed design, technical evaluations, and development of cost-estimate inputs\nEvaluate existing process systems and recommend modifications or improvements to support safety, reliability, capacity, and operational objectives\nCoordinate with mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, instrumentation and controls, and other engineering disciplines to deliver an integrated design\nInterface with equipment vendors during equipment selection, preparation of technical specifications, bid evaluations, and submittal reviews\nSupport process safety reviews, hazard evaluations, design reviews, and resolution of technical comments\nSupport commissioning, startup, testing, and operational-readiness activities, as required\nParticipate in client and site meetings, resolve technical issues, and align stakeholders on design direction\nProvide technical guidance to project team members and support internal quality reviews\nWhat Required Skills You'll Bring:\nBachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering field\n10+ years of process engineering experience\nPrevious engineering experience at a nuclear facility, nuclear fuel-cycle facility, DOE facility, or NRC-regulated facility\nExperience supporting projects within an operating nuclear or highly regulated industrial facility\nStrong experience developing and reviewing core process design deliverables, including PFDs, P&IDs, heat and material balances, equipment specifications, and process calculations\nExperience providing process engineering support for facility modifications, equipment upgrades, and existing-site projects\nAbility to coordinate and work effectively across multiple engineering disciplines in an EPC project environment\nStrong problem-solving, technical analysis, and written and verbal communication skills\nAbility to work directly with site personnel, project teams, clients, and equipment vendors\nWhat Desired Skills You'll Bring:\n8+ years of process engineering experience, with significant experience supporting nuclear facilities or nuclear-related projects\nExperience with nuclear fuel fabrication, uranium processing, enrichment, conversion, deconversion, advanced reactor fuels, or radioactive material processing\nExperience supporting DOE or NRC-regulated facilities\nExperience providing day-to-day process engineering support to an operating facility\nExtensive experience with EPC process engineering from feasibility and conceptual design through detailed design and construction support is preferred.\nExperience supporting nuclear facility modifications, modernization projects, capacity expansions, or brownfield upgrades\nExperience working with operations and maintenance personnel to troubleshoot process issues and implement facility improvements\nFamiliarity with nuclear safety requirements, process hazard analyses, criticality safety interfaces, safety basis documentation, and nuclear quality requirements such as NQA-1\nFamiliarity with process modeling and hydraulic analysis tools, such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, Pipe-Flo\nExperience supporting feasibility studies, design engineering, commissioning, startup, and operational-readiness activities\nProfessional Engineer license or demonstrated progress toward licensure\n Security Clearance Requirement:\nNoneThis position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.For more than 80 years, our experts have designed and delivered the critical infrastructure that connects and protects communities around the world.
