Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible.Job Description:\nPrincipal Project Engineer - Hydrology & Drainage - Transportation Infrastructure\nOur Parsons Seattle office is seeking to hire a highly experienced Principal Project Engineer to provide leadership in our hydrology and drainage practice supporting transportation projects in the Pacific Northwest.\nIn this role you will act as the primary interface with internal design teams and take the lead for all drainage aspects of the project with the client and our JV partners on both conventional and alternative delivery projects. You will be a key member of our Drainage Practice reporting into Senior Management. Our projects include new highway design, expansion, and rehabilitation, and rail and transit expansion projects.\nWe expect you to be able to manage and oversee design of drainage elements relating to transportation projects, including hydrologic analysis, inlet design, storm sewer design, ditch and channel design, cross drain design, retention/detention basin design, water quality analysis, adequate outfall design and design of on and off-site drainage facilities. As a leader, you must be able to demonstrate prior experience in the preparation of plan documents and reports, such as stormwater plans and permit applications, drainage criteria documentation, and hydraulic reports\nResponsibilities:\nFunctions as Engineering Drainage Design Manager on small, medium and large projects, and oversee the work of the team.\nLeads other Engineers and design personnel in technical excellence and growth in the Quality Improvement Process.\nProvides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.\nEnsures compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract.\nHelps determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. May assist with other administrative and technical duties.\nDeveloping and coaching younger drainage engineers\nRequirements:\n4-year degree in Civil Engineering (or a related field)\n12 years or more of related work experience in water resources engineering design (drainage design, hydrologic studies/evaluations, especially for transportation projects \nProfessional Engineer (PE) registration is required.\nAbility to perform in a lead capacity and provide oversight to design engineering process\n Security Clearance Requirement:\nNoneThis position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.For more than 80 years, our experts have designed and delivered the critical infrastructure that connects and protects communities around the world.
