You will need to be based out of our Burnaby, Canada office.\nIn this leadership role, you will be at the forefront of delivering advanced transit command, control, and communications systems. You’ll guide critical system-level engineering activities across the full project lifecycle, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated, high-performing, and operationally ready solutions.\nThis role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical depth with leadership capability - someone who can connect requirements, design, integration, testing, and assurance into a cohesive systems delivery strategy.\nWhat You’ll Do\nYou will play a key role in the successful delivery of complex rail and transit systems by:\nLeading and managing Systems Engineering teams across one or more major projects\nDriving system-level engineering activities throughout the full systems engineering lifecycle\nSupporting the design, integration, delivery, testing, and commissioning of advanced transit systems\nWorking closely with engineering teams across key technical domains, including:Communications\nSignaling and Train Control\nTraction Power\nTrackwork\nFixed Facilities\n\nPartnering with systems engineering specialists in:System Architecture\nRequirements Management\nInterface Management\nVerification and Validation\nSystems Assurance\n\nCollaborating with internal disciplines and external stakeholders, including architects, code consultants, contractors, authorities having jurisdiction, and major suppliers\nSupporting construction, installation, and field coordination activities\nEngaging with Operations and Maintenance teams to help ensure long-term operational success\nContributing to test and commissioning activities and supporting systems through readiness and start-up\nAssisting with customer training and development of Operations & Maintenance manuals\nWhat You Bring\nYou are a collaborative and technically accomplished systems engineering leader who knows how to navigate complexity, align stakeholders, and keep delivery moving.\nWe’d love to hear from you if you have:\nProven experience leading technical teams and managing systems engineering delivery\nStrong experience in the design and/or integration of communications systems and train control systems for transit facilities and vehicles\nA solid track record of developing technical requirements and specifications\nExperience using digital delivery tools such as DOORS or similar requirements management platforms\nThe ability to operate effectively in complex, multidisciplinary project environments spanning multiple system domains\nStrong communication skills and confidence working with technical teams, senior leadership, clients, partners, and suppliers\nThe ability to lead technical conversations, influence decisions, and represent the systems engineering function with credibility\nA hands-on, adaptable approach and comfort working across office, project, and field environments\nThe initiative to work independently while driving collaboration across a broader team\nRequired Qualifications\nEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related field) and typically 15+ years of related work experience, including supervisory/managerial experience.
