Job Description:\nParsons is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with strong experience in NYCDEP sewer and water main design to support NYCDOT and NYCDDC projects. This position requires a versatile civil engineer who can contribute to a variety of tasks, including roadway design, sewer alignment and design, chambers, dewatering, utility impacts, staging, Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT), and coordination among civil, structural, and geotechnical disciplines. While hydraulic analysis may be a small portion of the work, the ideal candidate will bring expertise in DEP sewer and water main design to complement other civil engineering tasks.\nThis position can be located in either New York or New Jersey.\nWhat You'll Be Doing:\nPerform complex engineering tasks efficiently and accurately, with a focus on NYCDEP sewer and water main design.\n\nExtract engineering information from CAD drawings and prepare engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.\n\nComplete a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.\n\nFrequently interface with other engineering disciplines as well as other departments to ensure project coordination.\n\nPrepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.\n\nReview supplier drawing submittals and perform technical bid analyses.\n\nPrepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.\n\nProvide technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.\n\nSupport sewer alignment and design, chambers, dewatering, utility impacts, staging, MPT, and coordination among civil, structural, and geotechnical disciplines for DDC SE885 Sewer Design projects.\n\nContribute to roadway design tasks and other civil engineering efforts as needed.\n\nPerform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.\n\nEducation and Experience:\nBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)\n\nTypically 8+ years of related work experience\n\nProfessional Engineer registration may be required\n\nExperience working on NYC projects, including NYCDEP sewer and water main design\n\nStrong knowledge of NYCDOT and NYCDDC projects preferred\n\n Security Clearance Requirement:\nNoneThis position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.For more than 80 years, our experts have designed and delivered the critical infrastructure that connects and protects communities around the world.
