Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible.Job Description:\nJoin Parsons as a Senior Electrical Designer and help deliver complex rail and transit infrastructure projects, including Lakeshore East and transit bus garage upgrades. You’ll lead and coordinate the design of power distribution, communications, security, fire alarm, lighting, and control systems-working with multidisciplinary teams to create safe, reliable solutions that keep communities moving.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nDesign and coordinate medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems for rail and transit facilities.\nDesign communications systems including fiber optic, PA, telephone, CCTV, and network infrastructure.\nDesign security systems including access control, intrusion detection, and video surveillance.\nDesign and coordinate fire alarm and life safety systems.\nPerform lighting design and photometric analysis for stations, tunnels, maintenance facilities, and ancillary buildings.\nConduct power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, arc flash, and coordination studies.\nDevelop and coordinate SCADA and control system interfaces with electrical and mechanical systems.\nPrepare design drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.\nCoordinate designs with multidisciplinary teams, clients, utilities, and contractors.\nSupport construction activities, shop drawing reviews, and field investigations.\nWhat Required Skills You'll Bring\nBachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.\n8+ years of experience in electrical design for rail, transit, transportation, or infrastructure projects.\nProficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, and BIM modeling environments.\nExperience with power distribution, fire alarm, communications, security, and SCADA systems.\nKnowledge of applicable codes and standards, including CEC, OESC, NFPA, IEEE, CSA, and local transit authority requirements.\nExperience performing power system analyses using software such as ETAP, SKM, or EasyPower.\nStrong understanding of electrical equipment, protection, grounding, and control systems.\nExcellent communication, coordination, and technical writing skills.\nAbility to lead design efforts and mentor junior designers.\n P.Eng. designation (or eligibility for registration) is considered a strong asset.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with major rail and transit projects (LRT, subway, maintenance facilities).\nExperience with Systems Integration and interface coordination.\nFamiliarity with Metrolinx, TTC, GO Transit, VIA Rail, or similar transit agency standards.\nExperience working in a BIM 360 workflow.\nThis position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.For more than 80 years, our experts have designed and delivered the critical infrastructure that connects and protects communities around the world.
