Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible.Job Description:\nSenior Materials Engineer\nQatar\nParsons is looking for an amazingly talentedSenior Material Engineer to join our team in Qatar! In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing material engineering activities and quality assurance processes for roads, utilities, drainage, and associated infrastructure works. You will ensure that all construction materials comply with project specifications, applicable standards, and contract requirements while supporting the project team in achieving the required quality objectives.\nWhat You'll Be Doing\nLeading and overseeing material engineering activities related to roads, drainage, utilities, structures, and associated infrastructure works.\nReviewing material submittals, technical data sheets, manufacturers' certifications, and test reports to ensure compliance with project requirements.\nEvaluating sources of materials and recommending approval of materials, suppliers, and manufacturers in accordance with project specifications.\nMonitoring laboratory and field testing activities to ensure compliance with approved quality standards and testing procedures.\nReviewing and validating mix designs for asphalt, concrete, backfill materials, aggregates, and other construction materials.\nCoordinating with Resident Engineers, Site Engineers, Inspectors, contractors, laboratories, and suppliers on material-related matters.\nEnsuring all materials incorporated into the works comply with approved specifications, standards, and contract requirements.\nMonitoring material quality trends and identifying potential issues that may affect project quality, performance, or durability.\nReviewing non-conformance reports related to materials and recommending corrective and preventive measures.\nConducting site inspections and audits to verify proper material handling, storage, installation, and usage.\nSupporting quality assurance and quality control activities through material reviews, inspections, testing, and technical evaluations.\nPreparing material engineering reports, technical assessments, recommendations, and quality documentation.\nAssisting with project handover activities through review of material records, test reports, and quality documentation.\nSupporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality performance and project delivery.\nWhat Required Skills You'll Bring\nBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.\n14 years of experience in material engineering and quality assurance for construction and infrastructure projects, including 7 years in a similar role.\nDemonstrated experience with material engineering activities on roads, highways, drainage, utilities, and infrastructure projects.\nStrong understanding of applicable international standards, testing methods, and quality requirements related to construction materials.\nAbility to interpret engineering specifications, construction drawings, and quality requirements.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and technical evaluation skills.\nExcellent communication, coordination, and report-writing skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.\nAbility to work effectively within a multidisciplinary construction supervision team.\nMust be MMUP/MME certified in Qatar.\nWhat Desired Skills You'll Bring\nExperience delivering major roads, drainage, utilities, and infrastructure projects in Qatar or the GCC region.\nFamiliarity with Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS) and local authority requirements.\nExperience working on large-scale infrastructure construction supervision projects.\nKnowledge of AASHTO, ASTM, BS, EN, or other relevant international material standards.\nFamiliarity with quality management systems and material approval workflows used on infrastructure construction projects.\nParsons equally employs representation at all job levels no matter the race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age, disability or genetic information.We truly invest and care about our employee’s wellbeing and provide endless growth opportunities as the sky is the limit, so aim for the stars!
