Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible.Job Description:\nParsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Power Supply Engineer to join our team!\nWhat You’ll Be Doing:\nManage Traction Power Supply System (TPSS) construction activities and ensure successful delivery of railway electrification works.\nEnsure all activities are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, project procedures, and applicable standards.\nProvide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to engineers, technicians, and project teams involved in traction power and electrical systems.\nLead electrical engineering activities, including requirements analysis, specification development, interface definition, component selection, simulation, and power system design.\nDevelop engineering calculations, technical models, and design solutions for railway power supply systems.\nPrepare power system studies for AC and DC electrified railway systems.\nPerform computer simulations and analyses, including load flow, short-circuit, motor-starting, and protection coordination studies.\nConduct site investigations and inspections at substations, traction power facilities, and railway corridors.\nPrepare technical proposals, engineering reports, and cost estimates as required.\nLead the installation, testing, and commissioning of traction power and electrical equipment.\nDevelop and deliver technical presentations and reports to project stakeholders.\nProvide technical leadership for AC and DC railway electrification system design projects.\nReview complete project documentation, including design packages, as-built documentation, operation and maintenance manuals, installation procedures, and commissioning plans.\nDesign and review power supply assemblies to ensure compliance with project specifications and performance requirements.\nVerify that designs meet applicable technical, safety, operational, and regulatory standards.\nDevelop solutions to address production, reliability, performance, and operational challenges.\nPrepare engineering documentation and technical deliverables to support quality project execution.\nFacilitate technical design reviews with engineering teams, contractors, manufacturers, and project stakeholders.\nParticipate in multidisciplinary design reviews and systems integration activities.\nSupport testing, troubleshooting, commissioning, and performance verification of traction power systems and related equipment.\nWhat Required Skills You’ll Bring:\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.\nMinimum 15 years of experience in Traction Power Supply System Engineering, preferably on metro, railway, or high-speed rail projects.\nProven experience delivering traction power and railway electrification systems on major infrastructure projects.\nStrong knowledge of HV and LV power systems associated with railway and rail transit networks.\nComprehensive understanding of national and international standards related to railway power systems and operations.\nExperience in the design and implementation of AC and DC traction power systems.\nExperience with 600V/750V DC traction power substations and 25kV railway electrification systems.\nKnowledge of frequency converters, stray current mitigation systems, and wayside cable infrastructure.\nExperience with circuit breakers, switchgear, transformers, rectifiers, and protection systems.\nStrong knowledge of SCADA, PLC, and railway protection systems.\nUnderstanding of overhead catenary systems and third-rail electrification systems.\nExperience conducting load flow, short-circuit, and protection coordination studies.\nStrong leadership, technical reporting, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.\nWhat Desired Skills You’ll Bring:\nKnowledge of power electronics, control systems, and protection systems.\nUnderstanding of multi-modular converter technologies.\nExperience on major metro, transit, railway, or transportation infrastructure projects.\nParsons equally employs representation at all job levels no matter the race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age, disability or genetic information.We truly invest and care about our employee’s wellbeing and provide endless growth opportunities as the sky is the limit, so aim for the stars!
