Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible.Job Description:\nParsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team! In this role you will be responsible to include review, recommending revisions to, applying and, approving all required contractual documentation.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing:\nQuantity Surveying & Commercial Management - Providing end-to-end commercial oversight for both consultancy and contractors, from contract award through to final account. Covering but not limited to: Payment certification, Claims management, Variation control, Cost monitoring, Identifying cost-efficiency opportunities, Producing clear commercial progress reports.\nIdentify potential claims, check for compliance with applicable contractual terms and ensure effective negotiation and settlement of claims, coordinating with other departments where necessary to achieve this.\nEvaluate and recommend claims submitted from Contractors, including the calculation of losses incurred through co-ordination with QS Team.\nOffer advice in the review and the approval of payment certificates, invoicing from subcontractors and to the client.\nManage all matters regarding contract administration, claims, disputes, contract interpretation and cost analysis, coordinating with other departments where necessary to achieve this.\nCost Estimation, Forecasting & Financial Analysis - Strong capability in cost planning, Estimating, and financial reporting for major construction programs, Ensuring accurate forecasting, disciplined cost control, and timely commercial insights.\nDevelop, implement and manage systems and procedures for the monitoring of the contracts to ensure that contractual compliance issues are resolved both timely and effectively across multiple work packages.\nContract Administration & Risk Management - Proven track record in the following: contract negotiation and administration, proactively identifying and mitigating commercial risks, strengthening contractual compliance, and preparation and processing of key Change Management Documentation.\nLead the continuous improvement of contract processes through refining contract formulation activities, systems and procedures.\nAssist / input into the financial budget to ensure the cost-effectiveness and value for money of contracts.\nFormulate suggestions to resolve Contract issues.\nTendering & Procurement Support - Proven track record in the following: Experienced in tender strategy, Bid evaluation, and procurement documentation.\nAssist in the preparation of legal and contractual documents such as; Request for Proposals (RFP) and other legal or contractual documents.\nProvide advice regarding contract procurement and types of underlying contracts and agreements (as necessary).\nQuantity Take-Offs & Bill of Quantities (BOQ) - Proven track record in the following: Highly proficient in detailed quantity take-offs and BOQ preparation, Supporting accurate pricing, Efficient resource planning, and reduced wastage through improved measurement and controls.\nPlay a leading and pivotal role in supporting the project executives, leaders and project managers in monitoring and controlling the performance of contracted services to ensure services are effective, meet statutory requirements and deliver the desired outcomes.\nCollaborate with colleagues across organizational lines to obtain and communicate business information necessary for Reporting purposes.\nWhat Required Skills You’ll Bring:\n\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying from an accredited university/ institution is required.\nMinimum of 12 years of experience in commercial management across multiple construction sectors.\nExtensive knowledge of cost & commercial management principles, procurement processes, and contract and change management principles.\nAttention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.\nProficient in AutoCAD, MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Visio) and Aconex.\nStrategic thinking and decision-making capabilities.\nStrong communications skills in English is required.\nAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.\nFamiliarity with local regulations, industry standards, and best practices.\nWhat Desired Skills You’ll Bring:\nProfessional certification (MRICS) is an advantage.\nExperience in PMCM projects is highly desirable.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nParsons equally employs representation at all job levels no matter the race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age, disability or genetic information.We truly invest and care about our employee’s wellbeing and provide endless growth opportunities as the sky is the limit, so aim for the stars!
