Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible.Job Description:\nParsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Software Developer to join our team!\nIn this role you will get to support DTRA's Data Lake (AIDA-TAC) or other AI/ML and data engineering initiatives.\nWhat You'll Be Doing:\nDesign, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes for ingesting and transforming large volumes of chemical and biological threat data\nBuild and optimize cloud-based data architectures, integrating with data lakes and external systems via APIs\nDevelop, deploy, and support AI/ML-enabled tools for data mining, predictive modeling, and knowledge discovery\nImplement and automate data quality, validation, and enrichment workflows, including generation of data quality reports\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support analytics, machine learning, and knowledge graph construction\nApply data security, encryption, and access control strategies in compliance with DoD and NIST standards\nParticipate in Agile sprints and contribute to technical documentation and continuous improvement of data and software solutions\nWhat Required Skills You'll Bring:\nBachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field\n8+ years of experience in data engineering, software development, or ETL development in cloud or enterprise environments\nProficiency in programming languages and tools such as Python, Java, C++, SQL, and Spark, with hands-on experience in AI/ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)\nHands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and cloud-native data services\nExperience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps practices (CI/CD, automated testing)\nStrong understanding of data modeling, data partitioning, and data architecture best practices\nFamiliarity with data security, encryption, and access control mechanisms\nActive Secret or higher security clearance\n What Desired Skills You'll Bring:\nProficiency with OCR and document text-extraction technologies.\nExperience with document layout analysis, including detection of paragraphs, tables, figures, captions, headers, footers, and annotations.\nFamiliarity with chart understanding and plot digitization, including extraction of axes, labels, legends, data points, trends, units, and error bars.\nFamiliarity with Optical Chemical Structure Recognition (OCSR) for converting molecular depictions into machine-readable formats such as SMILES, InChI, or molecular graphs.\nAbility to associate extracted data with its source document, page, figure, table, caption, and bounding box.\nFamiliarity with confidence scoring, validation, error correction, and human-in-the-loop review workflows.\nExperience designing normalized schemas or knowledge graphs for scientific and chemical data.\nExperience developing and deploying AI/ML models and integrating them into production data pipelines\nExperience with DoD cybersecurity and data governance standards (e.g., NIST SP 800-171, STIG, RMF)\nExperience with metadata management, data cataloging, and data quality assessment tools\nFamiliarity with advanced search and indexing technologies (e.g., vector/semantic search, LLMs)\nExperience with modern database platforms (e.g., Postgres, MongoDB, MySQL, Neo4j)\n Security Clearance Requirement:\nAn active Secret security clearance is required for this position.This position is part of our Federal Solutions team.The Federal Solutions segment delivers resources to our US government customers that ensure the success of missions around the globe.
