In this role you will get to provide Structural Engineering support to design and construction oversight for Facilities Design and Construction projects for our DoD customers.\nWhat You'll Be Doing:\nPerforming complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately to support various industrial and infrastructure projects.\nPreparing engineering computations, quantity takeoffs, estimates, and designs\nPreparing, coordinating, and supervising engineering design for assigned projects/tasks.\nPreparing technical specifications and scope of work descriptions\nCoordinating structural engineering activities and other disciplines\nPreparing requests for geotechnical investigations\nParticipating in proposal writing, client meetings, and client presentations\nCommitting to quality and continuous improvement through innovation, creative thinking, and improved results\nPerforms constructability, build ability, and maintainability reviews, especially as related to structural systems.\nReviews shop drawing and construction-phase submittals when issues arise that require specific technical assistance.\nMakes site trips to collect structural engineering related data and construction contractor performance.\nWhat Required Skills You'll Bring:\nUS citizenship is required.\nBachelor’s degree in engineering (or related field)\nMasters’ degree in structural engineering\n8+ years of related work experience\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license is required with ability to obtain licensure in other states.\nMust be fully conversant with the International Building Code (IBC) and Standards like ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Construction Manual, and TMS 402/602.\nMust have sound overall experience in designing reinforced concrete (cast-in-place and precast construction), structural steel and masonry structures.\nExperience working with Autodesk REVIT\nProficiency in utilizing structural engineering software programs like Risa 3d, SAP, ETABS, SAFE and Staad Pro.\nGood organizational and communication skills. Able to express ideas concisely and clearly, both orally and in writing.\nProficient in the use of office personal computers, office networks, and the Microsoft Office suite of software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)\n What Desired Skills You'll Bring:\nConduct Site Surveys\nDesign and Engineering services for identified locations throughout the United States\nWork under the supervision of a design lead and other engineers and designers.\nEnsure compliance with Government and National Codes and Standards.\nWork on the design of major buildings and structures.\nWork on the design for other ancillary supporting structures.\nReview of engineering drawings, manufacturer drawings and equipment specifications.\nTechnical support provided to various departments including Engineering, Design, Operations and Construction.\nGuides and informs on the development, enhancement, and refinement of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria on a routine basis.\nWorking knowledge of structural engineering.\nAssist Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in technical discussions to facilitate the development and updating of standards.\nAbility to interpret and adapt relevant industry best practices, standards, and legislation for the benefit of the Company. \nResolve technical issues that may arise in updating and development of standards.\nWork in a matrixed team environment and promote team effectiveness by providing technical guidance and coaching and communicating expectations to the team.\nAbility to prioritize work and be a team member on multiple projects at one time under budget and time constraints.\nAbility to perform and check complex calculations and studies (steel structures, concrete foundations, etc.).\nPrepare comprehensive written and oral reports of technical problems, investigative findings, and engineering recommendations.\nSupport Project Manager and Project Management Processes.\nMentor and train junior engineers and other personnel.\n Security Clearance Requirement:\nNoneThis position is part of our Federal Solutions team.The Federal Solutions segment delivers resources to our US government customers that ensure the success of missions around the globe.
