Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a Technical Analyst. The Technical Analyst provides expert-level technical analysis and subject-matter expertise to support organizational decision-making, mission outcomes, and program effectiveness. This position conducts in-depth research and analysis of complex technical issues, emerging technologies, operational requirements, capability gaps, and evolving threats within the cyber domain.

The Technical Analyst evaluates systems and platforms, develops data-driven recommendations, translates operational needs into technical requirements, and produces high-quality analytical products for leadership and stakeholders. This role works closely with Project Delivery Managers, Technical Writers, Knowledge Managers, technical teams, and organizational leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis of complex technical issues, cyber capabilities, operational requirements, and technology gaps.
  • Perform technical evaluations of systems, platforms, tools, architectures, and proposed solutions.
  • Conduct comparative analyses of technologies, products, vendors, and technical approaches.
  • Develop clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership and program stakeholders.
  • Prepare analytical products, including: Technical assessments White papers Capability gap analyses Technology evaluations Decision briefings Research reports Technical recommendations
  • Support requirements development by translating operational needs, mission objectives, and user requirements into clear technical specifications.
  • Analyze datasets and develop meaningful insights to support program planning, performance measurement, and organizational decision-making.
  • Develop descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics, as appropriate.
  • Monitor technology trends, emerging cyber threats, industry developments, and evolving operational capabilities.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, technical approaches, and solution architectures.
  • Assess the feasibility, effectiveness, scalability, security, and operational impact of proposed technologies.
  • Collaborate with Project Delivery Managers, Technical Writers, Knowledge Managers, engineers, cybersecurity professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Ensure analytical products and technical documentation are accurate, well-supported, and aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Provide expert technical input during planning sessions, requirements reviews, solution evaluations, and leadership briefings.
  • Maintain awareness of relevant cybersecurity frameworks, standards, methodologies, and best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a quantitative or related discipline, such as: Statistics. Mathematics, Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer science or relevant STEM field and ten (10) years of relevant professional experience.

OR

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a quantitative or related discipline, such as: Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer science or relevant STEM field and twelve (12) years of relevant professional experience
  • Advanced experience conducting technical analysis and providing expert-level technical advice to support organizational decision-making and program effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated experience researching and analyzing complex technical issues, emerging technologies, operational requirements, and capability gaps within the cybersecurity domain.
  • Experience evaluating technical systems, platforms, architectures, and capabilities.
  • Experience conducting comparative analyses and developing data-driven recommendations for leadership.
  • Proven ability to develop analytical products, including technical assessments, white papers, research reports, and executive briefings.
  • Experience translating operational needs and mission requirements into clear, actionable technical specifications.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity technologies, emerging threats, industry trends, and evolving technical capabilities.
  • Experience monitoring technology trends and assessing their potential operational and organizational impact.
  • Experience evaluating vendor proposals, technical solutions, and recommended approaches.
  • Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, technical writing, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Project Delivery Managers, Technical Writers, Knowledge Managers, leadership, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Active TS SCI w/ poly security clearance required.
