Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible.Job Description:\nViaduct Structural Engineer (Rail)\nDubai, UAE\nParsons is looking for an amazingly talented Viaduct Structural Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to assist the Resident Engineer in design review and construction related to the structural aspects of bridge construction, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and project timelines.\nWhat You'll Be Doing:\nReport to the Resident Engineer and assist in supervising the construction of bridges, viaducts, and associated items.\nOversee the structural aspects of bridge construction activities, ensuring execution according to project plans and specifications.\nCoordinate activities with other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.\nAssist the Resident Engineer in reviewing shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, and correspondence related to the bridges section, and prepare replies for the Resident Engineer's review.\nProvide technical assistance and guidance to construction teams to achieve compliance and quality objectives.\nCoordinate with design engineers to resolve related issues.\nMaintain the daily diary and reports prepared by inspectors.\nCoordinate with contractor engineers on scheduling and resource allocation.\nDirect, assist, and monitor the performance of inspectors and surveyors as applicable.\nConvene and chair meetings with service authorities, contractors, subcontractors, and other related parties.\nEnsure accuracy and completeness of records.\nAchieve safety goals on the project and oversee the implementation of safety procedures.\nPrepare or assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly progress reports.\nAct positively and participate in all health and safety issues at the site, as required by the Resident Engineer and project safety representatives.\nProvide necessary on-site direction and assist the Resident Engineer in issuing site instructions regarding structural works and associated items for Rail Viaduct- Substructure and Superstructure, Launching Gantry and Balance Cantilever Erection.\nCheck and measure performed work, record progress, and assist the Resident Engineer in displaying progress versus programmed work.\nEnsure correctness and review of Viaduct Substructure and Superstructure shop drawings, kinematics , Construction Sequence and completeness of ‘as-built’ drawings within your line of work.\nReview MSRA and ITP and assist with Materials review.\nKeep necessary records and as-built documentation, oversee the handing over of structural works to respective service authorities, and assist the contractor in obtaining final clearance.\nAnalyze engineering drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure they meet project requirements and resolve any discrepancies.\nEnsure construction quality and adherence to engineering standards, safety regulations, and contractual requirements.\nWhat Required Skills You'll Bring:\nBachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university is required.\nMinimum of ten (10) years of experience in design review and supervising bridge construction, particularly in metro rail or large-scale infrastructure projects.\nStrong understanding of structural engineering principles and construction techniques related to bridges.\nKnowledge of materials used in bridge construction, such as concrete and steel.\nAbility to review and justify material submissions, analyze laboratory and technical reports, carry out acceptance sampling plans, testing, and quality measures, ensuring compliance with project specifications.\nMust be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, and use any project-specific engineering and construction-relevant software.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong technical writing capabilities.\nWorking knowledge of construction sequences and standard work procedures in the industry.\nWork experience on a large metro rail project with bridge sections is preferable.\nFamiliarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to bridge construction and infrastructure projects.\nKnowledge of safety regulations and best practices in bridge construction.\nAvailable to work the night shift.\n What Desired Skills You'll Bring:\nStrong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders.\nEngineering consultancy experience within UAE/GCC is preferable.\nAbility to quickly identify and address construction challenges and discrepancies.\nCommitment to safe work practices.\nParsons equally employs representation at all job levels no matter the race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age, disability or genetic information.We truly invest and care about our employee’s wellbeing and provide endless growth opportunities as the sky is the limit, so aim for the stars!
