Unleash your talent and redefine what’s possible.Job Description:\nWet Utilities Design Engineer\nAbu Dhabi, UAE\nWet Utility Design Engineer\nParsons, Abu Dhabi\nParsons is looking for an amazingly talented Wet Utility Design Engineer to join our team! In this role you will work within a multidisciplinary consultancy team to deliver the planning and detailed design of wet utility networks for infrastructure and land development projects in Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE. The role focuses on design and authority approvals rather than site execution, covering potable water, fire-fighting, irrigation, foul sewer, and stormwater systems in line with Abu Dhabi authority standards.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nDesign wet utility systems, including potable water networks, irrigation, fire-fighting networks, sewerage and stormwater systems, manholes, chambers, appurtenances, pumping stations, wet wells, and storage/tank facilities.\n\nPrepare detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and schematics using CAD software.\n\nDevelop hydraulic models to analyze and optimize system performance.\n\nConduct feasibility studies and site assessments to determine project requirements.\n\nPerform calculations for pipe sizing, flow rates, pressure losses, and system capacities.\n\nEvaluate environmental and topographical data to ensure proper system integration.\n\nPrepare technical reports, design specifications, and bill of quantities (BOQ).\n\nEnsure all designs comply with local regulations, codes, and standards.\n\nWork closely with architects, urban planners, and other engineering disciplines to integrate wet utility systems into broader infrastructure projects.\n\nIdentify and resolve design challenges or site-specific issues during the design and construction phases.\n\nProvide technical support during construction, including reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs (Requests for Information).\n\nFollow company QA/QC procedures, design checklists, and document control protocols.\n\nAssist senior engineers in defining design scope, project submission.\n\nContribute to risk assessments and design decisions with a focus on safety, operability, and maintainability.\n\nWhat Required Skills You’ll Bring\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.\n\nMinimum 4 years of experience in an engineering consultancy environment, with a focus on wet utilities/infrastructure design.\n\nProven experience with UAE/GCC projects; direct Abu Dhabi authority experience is highly preferred.\n\nMembership or progress toward membership in a professional institution (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, ASCEICE, CIWEM, ASCE) is an advantage.\n\nProficiency in:\nHydraulic modeling: WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS, InfoWorks, EPANET, WaterGEMS.\n\nCAD/BIM: AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Infrawizard.\n\nOffice tools: MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint for calculations and reporting\n\nWhat Desired Skills You'll Bring:\nMaster’s degree in Water Resources, Hydraulics, or Environmental Engineering is an advantage.\n\nAbu Dhabi Utility Infrastructure Design Manuals and authority submission procedures.\n\nInternational standards such as AWWA, BS/EN, ISOAWWA, BS/EN, ISO for water and wastewater systems.\n\nDesign of both gravity and pressurized systems.\n\nPrior experience in UAE or GCC market/projects.\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\n\nExcellent organizational skills.\n\nA collegiate, team-player attitude.\n\nTeam player with good communication skills.\n\nGood design coordination skills with other disciplines\n\nParsons equally employs representation at all job levels no matter the race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy), national origin, age, disability or genetic information.We truly invest and care about our employee’s wellbeing and provide endless growth opportunities as the sky is the limit, so aim for the stars!
