About us
Partake is a B2B fintech company providing an end-to-end lending platform as a service. Its core product, F-PaaS (Financing Platform as a Service), covers the entire lending lifecycle, from loan origination to loan management, and operates as a secure, multi-tenant cloud platform.
Partake serves a diverse client base, ranging from non-bank financial institutions to large banks, enabling them to establish and manage comprehensive financing services on a single platform. Through F-PaaS, clients can unlock new revenue streams and deliver end-to-end financial services to their customers from day one.
Responsibilities and main job tasks:
- Design, develop and maintain high performance, distributed, business critical applications in the FinTech field.
- Build product features on top of LLMs (retrieval, tool calling, structured output) and make them predictable enough to run inside a regulated financial system.
- Work with AI coding agents daily and stay accountable for what they produce. You review it, you test it, your name is on the merge.
- Evaluate new tools, models and approaches, and tell the difference between something that works in production and something that only demos well.
- Solve challenging problems, while working in a highly dynamic and technologically driven environment.
- Own your code from development to production, including what happens to it after release.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of Java design and development (server side), with recent work on Java 17 or 21: records, sealed types, pattern matching, virtual threads.
- Knowledge and experience in microservices and distributed systems. Designing and consuming RESTful APIs, with OpenAPI as the contract.
- Experience with async communication and event-driven messaging architecture (Kafka, SQS or similar), including idempotency, retries and delivery guarantees.
- Experience with Spring Boot 3 / Spring Framework 6.
- Excellent knowledge of relational databases, SQL and ORM technologies (Jakarta Persistence, Hibernate), plus versioned schema migrations (Flyway or Liquibase).
- Experience with Mongo or similar document-oriented NoSQL database.
- You know how to cover your code with tests: unit, integration against real dependencies (Testcontainers), and contract tests between services. This matters more when an agent wrote the first draft of the code.
- Daily hands-on use of AI coding agents (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot or similar), and the judgment to reject what they hand you when it is wrong.
- You can set an agent up to succeed: prompt engineering, a clear spec, the right tools and tests wired in.
- Good understanding of how LLMs behave to debug them: context windows, tokens, non-determinism, hallucination, prompt injection.
- CI/CD, containers and Kubernetes. You ship your own work to production.
- Cloud services (AWS preferred), and a sense of what your design costs to run.
- Observability: structured logging, metrics and distributed tracing (OpenTelemetry).
- You debug production from telemetry rather than by guessing.
- Good technical skills with deep understanding of the development lifecycle, methodologies and best practices.
- Ability to execute end to end from design to implementation.
- Very good English skills.
You will impress us if you have knowledge/experience in:
- RAG in production: embeddings, vector search (Atlas Vector Search, pgvector), chunking and re-ranking.
- Evals for LLM features: automated suites that catch a regression when a prompt, a model or a retrieval step changes.
- Agentic systems: tool calling, MCP servers, multi-step orchestration, and human approval gates on anything that moves money.
- Model selection and cost/latency trade-offs, including running smaller or self-hosted models where data residency or price demands it.
- Security and compliance in a regulated environment: PII handling, secrets, audit trails, and clear rules about what may be sent to a third-party model.
- Concurrency and multi-threading.
- Data structures, algorithms, Big O notation and performance analysis.
- Infrastructure as code (Terraform).
