It includes selecting error-correcting codes tailored to Pasqal hardware, designing fault-tolerant logical gates, developing decoders, and benchmarking QEC performance, analyzing experimental data to develop logical error models and budgets, and building and maintaining numerical libraries to simulate QEC protocols.\nMain responsibilities:\nQEC codes & protocols: Select, adapt, and benchmark quantum error-correcting codes and protocols under realistic neutral-atom hardware constraints, including detection, decoding, and correction strategies.\n\nDecoding & performance analysis: Develop and evaluate decoding approaches, and quantify QEC performance under realistic noise models.\n\nLogical error models & budgets: Develop and maintain logical error models and error budgets, and connect them with physical noise models, experimental data, and internal emulators.\n\nLogical operations: Contribute to the design and benchmarking of fault-tolerant logical operations and logical gate strategies.\n\nQEC-driven architecture inputs: Provide QEC-driven inputs to the design of future QPU architectures, including constraints on layout, zoning, connectivity, and operation scheduling.\n\nSimulation & emulation tools: Develop and maintain QEC simulation tools consistent with internal models and assumptions.\n\nDocumentation and communication: Write reports, technical documents, and scientific articles.\n\nIntellectual property: Contribute to the identification and protection of patentable technical ideas.\n\nExternal representation: Represent the company at international conferences, workshops, and industry events.\n\nAbout you\nPhD or equivalent experience in quantum error correction, fault-tolerant quantum computing, or a related field.\n\nStrong understanding of quantum error-correcting codes, decoding methods, and fault-tolerant protocols.\n\nInterest in neutral-atom platforms and the ability to account for realistic hardware constraints in QEC studies.\n\nStrong programming skills for scientific computing (e.g., Python), including data analysis and simulation workflows.\n\nExperience in driving small technical projects, including planning, prioritization, and delivery, is a plus.\n\nSoft skills:\nHigh level of autonomy and rigor.\n\nAbility to work at the interface between theory, numerical simulation, and experimental constraints.\n\nProven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams\n\nStrong communication and listening skills.\n\nAbility to prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced environment.\n\nGood level of written and spoken English\n\nWhat we offer\nA flexible rhythm of face-to-face work\n\nType of contract : CDI\n\nA dynamic and close-knit international team\n\nA key role in a growing start-up\n\nFree time to train and go to conferences/meetups\n\nRecruitment process\nAn interview with our talent acquisition of 30'.\n\nAn exchange with the Hiring manager\n\nA meeting with Team members\n\nAn offer !\n\nPASQAL is an equal opportunity employer.
