You’ll work directly with the finance lead at our Canadian head office and take meaningful ownership of accounting, reporting, compliance and filings.\nYou will own the global books, which span multiple subsidiaries and require consolidation. We need someone we can trust to run the accounting, close the month, get the numbers right, and keep the company compliant across every jurisdiction we operate in. As the business grows, you’ll be the person the finance lead relies on to make sure the financial foundation is sound.\nWe are a small team, so you will work without much structure and build a lot of it yourself. We’re looking for someone who is careful, dependable and takes pride in accurate, timely reporting - and who wants to grow their scope as the company scales.\nBecause you’ll be collaborating closely with the Canadian head office across a 9.5-10.5 hour time difference, extended or shifted hours are likely. Strong written communication and comfort working asynchronously are essential.\nWhat you will do\nYou’ll take full ownership of core accounting, reporting, compliance and filings, with exposure across audit, internal controls, and cross-functional initiatives that support our product and growth.\nAccounting & Financial reporting\nLead day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close\n\nPrepare monthly financial statements under IFRS and support external audit\n\nMaintain and document accounting policies, memos, and reconciliations\n\nBuild and scale internal controls, systems, and reporting infrastructure\n\nCompliance & Filings\nWork with the Canadian head office on statutory, tax and regulatory filings, with the expectation of leading these over time\n\nMaintain the compliance calendar and ensure deadlines are met across jurisdictions\n\nFinance Operations\nDesign and manage finance-related processes integrated with our product\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to automate manual workflows\n\nRun day-to-day financial operations, including payroll, vendor payments and banking across entities\n\nStrategic Reporting & Analysis\nPartner with the finance lead on investor and board reporting\n\nSupport strategic decision-making while preparing and maintaining critical source-of-truth datasets across accounting, operations, and lending\n\nBuild tools and frameworks to track KPIs, unit economics, and cash flow\n\nYou’ll also be a key contributor to long-term projects like audit readiness, financial model development, and future financing events - with increasing ownership based on performance.\nQualifications\nCA (ICAI) or CPA designation with 3-5 years of post-qualification experience, ideally starting in Big 4 audit\n\nStrong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting under IFRS or equivalent\n\nComfort working independently in Excel and building reporting from scratch\n\nStrong written English and the ability to work effectively across time zones\n\nNice to Haves\nExperience in financial services, lending, NBFC or fintech, or structured credit\n\nExperience with expected credit loss (IFRS 9 or equivalent) modelling and reporting\n\nExposure to Indian/Canadian tax and regulatory filings (e.g. HST, SR&ED, CRA correspondence)\n\nExperience reporting to a foreign parent or head office\n\nExposure to FP&A, financial modelling, or investor reporting\n\nExperience building and/or testing internal controls\n\nFamiliarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Looker Studio)\n\nReady to join us?\nWe’re on a mission to make the world a fairer place, one student at a time.
