You’ll collaborate closely with the electrical, mechanical, industrial design, and verification/validation (V&V) teams to deliver robust, innovative solutions. This role demands a disciplined, independent leader with stellar embedded software skills, a systems-level mindset and the ability to self-teach and solve tough problems. You will contribute to shaping the product vision, drive its execution, and ensure it meets our standards for quality and efficiency.\nWhat you’ll do\nDevelop embedded systems: End to end development, from architecture design to high-volume production, of firmware and software for our embedded platforms, that is robust, functional, power-efficient, and feature-rich.\nTest and validate embedded systems: Design and implement HIL/SIL testing frameworks to validate robust, fail-safe code before V&V handoff. Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and industrial design teams to maintain product vision alignment.\nCollaborate on Feature Development: Work with platform architects, product management, and product design teams to architect and implement new features from initial concept to productization.\nEnsure Hardware-Firmware Platform Robustness: Use a structured and efficient approach to bug management. Perform hands-on system debugging to integrate hardware and software seamlessly.\nPrepare and maintain technical documentation: Maintain meticulous engineering and code documentation and communicate progress/design intent.\nWhat you’ll bring\nIf your experience does not meet all our posted requirements below, we’d still love to hear from you. If that’s you, please apply!\nYou must have\nProven experience:\nDegree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field-or proven exceptional ability through experience.\n\n6+ years working with embedded systems and embedded software development\n\nVery strong embedded programming skills (C, C++, Python, etc)\n\nEmbedded Linux and/or RTOS system development experience\n\nStrong electronic laboratory and debugging skills\n\nFamiliarity with schematics and electronic systems\n\nProficiency in Git for version control, collaboration, and maintaining high-quality codebases.\n\nExceptional Communication Skills: An ability to document/communicate clearly to effectively lead, mentor, and align teams.\n\nOrganized and Strategic: An organized, structured approach to complex project leadership and an enthusiasm for owning work within the context of the big picture.\n\nCollaborative Mindset: You thrive in cross-disciplinary teams, knowing the best hardware is built when everyone’s brainpower is in the mix.\n\nAdaptability: Comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment, eager to learn, iterate, and innovate.\n\nProblem solving: You own this role. Experience with (or a desire to explore) setting up and deploying AI-assisted testing systems is a bonus.\n\nYou should have\nARM SoC development experience\n\nExperience with wireless protocols (BLE, Mesh, Zigbee)\n\nExperience with schematic capture and board layout using Altium.\n\nExperience with safety and radio compliance testing.\n\nIt’s helpful to have\nFamiliarity with the startup environment.\n\nExperience interfacing with overseas vendors and supporting the manufacturing process.\n\nBackground in mentoring junior engineers or leading cross-functional teams.\n\nFamiliarity with RF design\n\nSwift language experience\n\nExperience with autonomous systems, Machine Learning, or energy systems\n\nPersonal projects showcasing initiative and technical depth (include these with your application!).\n\nWe know there are candidates who might not fit everything we’ve described above, or who might have experience and skills we haven’t considered.
