Our flexible backend system integrates robots, sensors, and other systems present in manufacturing and combines them with our cutting-edge algorithms. You will report to our Hardware Engineering Manager and will join a team of dedicated, supportive, and enthusiastic people to help create the future of manufacturing. \nWhat You’ll Do\nDesign welding fixtures, tooling, and robotic cell layouts for automated robotic welding systems.\nCreate build-to-print part and assembly drawings, mechanical BOMs, and layouts in SolidWorks, applying GD&T as needed.\nPerform structural validation using SolidWorks Simulation (FEA) to support design decisions.\nDesign and integrate pneumatic and low-voltage electrical subsystems within mechanical assemblies.\nBuild and validate designs at our manufacturing facility by hands-on prototyping. \nAssist in manufacturing through machine shop work and assembly as needed\nSupport builds, kitting, and installations, resolving mechanical issues as systems are deployed.\nImplement engineering change requests (ECRs) driven by build and field feedback.\nPartner with manufacturing and supply chain to reduce BOM cost, improve availability, and standardize parts.\nCapture lessons learned and roll improvements into standards, libraries, and future designs.\nWho You Are\nBachelors degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent\n2-6+ years of experience in mechanical design for automation or robotic systems, ideally in robotic welding environments.\nExperienced with fixture design, robotic cell layouts, and production automation hardware.\nStrong user of SolidWorks, including FEA, with the ability to interpret and apply results pragmatically.\nComfortable producing manufacturing-ready engineering drawings\nFamiliar with pneumatic systems, electrical interfaces, and mechanical integration points.\nKnowledgeable in machine safety as it applies to mechanical design, risk reduction, and designing for safe operation and maintenance.\nExperienced in working with PDM/PLM systems and supporting designs through change.\nHands-on and curious about how designs translate to the shop floor.\nThinks in terms of repeatability, deployment efficiency, and operational scale.\nSeeks feedback from internal and external customers, and uses it to drive continuous improvement.\nCommunicates clearly, works well across disciplines, and values shared ownership.\nMotivated by making each deployment easier, faster, and more reliable than the last.\nWhy You’ll Love Working Here\nDaily free lunch to keep you fueled and connected with the team\nFlexible PTO so you can take the time you need, when you need it\nComprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage\n6 weeks fully paid parental leave, plus an additional 6-8 weeks for birthing parents (12-14 weeks total)\n401(k) retirement plan through Empower\nGenerous employee referral bonuses-help us grow our team!\nWho We Are\nAt Path Robotics we love coming to work to solve interesting and tough challenges but also because our ideas are welcomed and valued.
