Big, hard problems are what Path tackles every day and our people are our greatest asset to get that job done. Our intelligent, hardworking team of people do the impossible every single day, yet remain incredibly kind, humble, and always ready to support one another.\nWe're looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to shape how we build our robotic welding cells as we scale. You'll lead lean and continuous improvement work across our build floor, and you'll play a central role in planning the production layout for the new facilities we're moving into over the next few years. This role reports to the Director of Manufacturing Operations.\nWhat You’ll Do\nLead production layout planning for our new buildings, from initial concept through move-in, including process flow, material flow, workstation design, storage strategy, utilities, equipment placement and traffic patterns for both material and people\nPartner with supply chain and build leadership to develop layouts that support today's volume and planned growth\nPlan and manage the transition of production into new space with minimal disruption to build schedules\nDesign intra-factory material flow from receiving and storage through kitting, line-side delivery, WIP movement and shipment of finished cells, so flow is built into the new buildings from the start rather than added later\nMap current-state and future-state value streams across build, kitting and test, and use the data, along with simulation where it helps, to drive prioritized improvements on the floor\nLead continuous improvement events (kaizen, 5S, standard work) that reduce lead time, WIP, rework and cost; push changes to the floor quickly, measure the impact and iterate\nBuild takt time, line balancing and capacity models to size workstations, staffing and floor space\nIdentify and resolve flow imbalances caused by inventory processes, layouts, part shortages or staffing constraints, and drive fixes with Supply Chain, Quality and design engineering\nDevelop standard work, work instructions and visual management with technicians and supervisors on the floor\nDesign fixtures, tooling and material presentation (kanban, point-of-use storage) that improve flow and ergonomics\nDefine and track KPIs such as cycle time, throughput, first-pass yield, on-time delivery, line-side material availability, inventory accuracy, WIP dwell time and material-driven downtime, and report progress to operations leadership\nWork with ERP and inventory system owners to keep material movement data accurate and visible in real time\nWork with design engineering on design for manufacturability and assembly as new products and configurations are released to the floor\nCoach engineers and technicians in lean tools and structured problem solving (A3, root cause analysis, PDCA)\nWho You Are\nBachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field\n7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment, ideally low-volume, high-mix assembly of complex electromechanical equipment, machinery or automation systems\nProven experience leading production facility layout projects, such as a new building, plant expansion or line relocation, from concept through move-in\nStrong understanding of factory design, line layout and intra-factory logistics for hardware manufacturing, including fabricated structures, electromechanical assemblies, wiring and controls\nExperience supporting new products from introduction through production ramp\nHands-on lean manufacturing practitioner with measurable results from value stream mapping, kaizen, 5S, standard work and pull systems\nTrack record of building a continuous improvement culture on the floor, not just running projects\nProficient in CAD for layout work (AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks) and comfortable reading engineering drawings; experience with plant layout or flow simulation tools is a plus\nComfortable with data: time studies, capacity models and line balancing analysis in Excel or similar tools\nLean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred\nExperience with robotics, welding or industrial automation is a plus\nClear communicator who can lead cross-functional projects and earn buy-in from technicians through senior leadership\nSelf-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and limited resources in a fast-growing company\nMust be local to Columbus, Ohio or willing to relocate\nPhysical Requirements & Working Conditions\nWork is performed on-site at our Columbus, Ohio facility, split between the office and the production floor\nRegular time on the manufacturing floor, including standing and walking for extended periods\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally\nExposure to typical manufacturing conditions, including noise, welding operations and moving equipment; PPE is required in designated areas\nOccasional travel to new building sites, suppliers and equipment vendors (estimated under 10%)\nWho We Are\nAt Path Robotics we love coming to work to solve interesting and tough challenges but also because our ideas are welcomed and valued. We encourage unique thinking and are dedicated to creating a diverse and inclusive environment. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, genetics, disability, age, or veteran status.\nRegulatory and Compliance Requirements\nThis position may support work performed under U.S. Government contracts and requires compliance with applicable federal regulations, including FAR and DFARS where applicable.\nThe role may involve access to export-controlled information subject to ITAR and/or EAR.\nCandidates must be able to comply with U.S. export control regulations, which may include meeting the definition of a “U.S. Person” where required.\nThis position may also involve handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and requires adherence to company and federal data protection and confidentiality standards. Employment may be contingent upon successful completion of a background check consistent with applicable requirements\nIf you require a reasonable accommodation to participate in the application process or any part of the hiring process, please contact . We are committed to providing equal access and will work with qualified individuals to ensure a fair and accessible hiring experience. We will respond to your request within 48 hours.","description_format":"text","description_chars":6696,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":7,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":true,"industries":["Industrial Robotics","Robotic Software & Control Systems"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-20T13:27:11Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"US","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"H-1B filings in 12 months: 20","filings_12m":20,"filings_prev_12m":8,"green_card_filings_12m":0,"median_offered_wage_usd":167500,"route":null,"cap_exempt":false,"checked_at":"2026-10-15T11:24:14+00:00","sources":["US Department of Labor: LCA disclosure data (H-1B, H-1B1, E-3)","US Department of Labor: PERM disclosure data (green cards)"],"filings_for_role_12m":0}],"liveness":{"score":63,"band":"ok","label":"Likely open","p_open":1,"p_active":0.632,"p_room":1,"age_days":0,"expected_fill_days":55,"reasons":["conf:1","stale_co","velocity","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-21T05:46:15Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/path-robotics-senior-manufacturing-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/path-robotics-senior-manufacturing-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-21T17:11:25Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":24211,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-22T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":48166},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=48166"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fpath-robotics-senior-manufacturing-engineer"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fpath-robotics-senior-manufacturing-engineer"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fpath-robotics-senior-manufacturing-engineer"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/path-robotics-senior-manufacturing-engineer\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fpath-robotics-senior-manufacturing-engineer"}]}
