{"id":2944718,"url":"https://alion.io/job/patient-first-lab-supervisor","title":"Lab Supervisor","company":{"id":2307640,"name":"Patient First","domain":"patientfirst.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/patientfirst","size_band":"1001-5000","is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"Workday","truth_index":{"grade":"B","score":76,"open_postings":18,"ghost_share":0,"stale_share":0.944,"repost_share":0,"time_to_fill_p50_days":37,"computed_at":"2026-11-07T05:47:08Z"}},"role":"Industrial Engineering","role_family":"Industrial Engineering","seniority":"junior","employment_type":"full_time","work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Sterling, United States"],"countries":["US"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":null,"salary_estimate":{"min_usd":61000,"max_usd":110000,"period":"year","method":"role_seniority_country_remote_cell","sample_n":4343},"experience_years_min":1,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-08-17T00:00:00Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-11-06","last_verified_at":"2026-11-07T16:14:54Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":82,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":1,"flags":[],"days_open":82},"description":"Sign-on Bonus!\nThe responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to the following:\nMonitoring test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained and reporting any problem or concerns to the assigned Technical Consultant or designee;\nEnsuring that all remedial actions are taken whenever test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications and reporting any problem to the assigned Technical Consultant;\nAssuring that proficiency testing is performed within the appropriate time frame;\nAssisting Physicians, Extenders, and Nurses with patient treatment and care including locating patients, obtaining accurate vital signs by visual and auditory measures, triaging patients, assessing patients’ problems, and preparing patients for physicals and medical treatment by Physicians, Extenders, and Nurses;\nHandling Physician, Extender, and Nurse requests with respect and in a timely manner.\nSupervising all lab personnel to ensure that each position’s responsibilities are carried out, that work meets quality standards, and policies, regulations, and procedures are followed;\nEnsuring that patient test results are not reported unless the test systems are properly functioning and reporting any test system problem to the assigned Technical Consultant;\nSubmitting monthly staffing schedules for all lab personnel; approving payroll for lab personnel in a timely manner; and providing all lab orientation and in-service training to all testing personnel;\nAssisting in interviewing lab candidates;\nAssisting in on-site training of lab personnel and functioning as an administrator and working as a Lab Technologist/Technician at least two days per week;\nEvaluating and documenting the competency of all testing personnel;\nEvaluating all lab personnel at 6 and 12 months the first year of employment and annually or as needed, thereafter;\nAssisting lab personnel in person or by telephone to resolve technical problems while testing is performed;\nMaintaining records of laboratory tests for two years;\nImplementing safety regulations as directed;\nReviewing lab inventory data and notifying the DMS when adjustments are needed with inventory control;\nEnsuring lab personnel understand all new and revised policies and procedures;\nWorking with fellow employees and externs during on-the-job training;\nEnsuring all Charge Change and Courtesy write-offs are forwarded daily to the Administrative Services department;\nDemonstrate proficiency in using the medical record system;\nMaintaining a clean work area by performing biological cleanup in accordance with OSHA Guidelines and completing other maintenance assignments as directed. Receiving and storing ordered supplies;\nBeing available as needed, as breaks and mealtimes may be interrupted at any time for patient care and to maintain center operations;\nAttending staff meetings as directed;\nFostering teamwork in a positive and professional atmosphere;\nWilling to work at any center due to staffing, a center emergency, or a reduction of work;\nOperating, maintaining, and using medical and office equipment as trained;\nCompleting other duties as directed.\nMinimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:\nEmployee must be 18 years of age or older;\nMinimum typing experience required;\nAt least one year of supervisory experience preferred;\nEmployee must be a High School graduate (or equivalent) and must meet one of the following requirements:Incumbent located in Maryland or Virginia must hold an associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology and have two years training/experience; or a bachelor’s degree in medical technology or chemical, physical, or biological science and one year training/experience;\nIncumbent located in New Jersey or Pennsylvania must hold a bachelor’s degree in medical technology or chemical, physical, or biological science or HEW certification by the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare as a Medical Technologist, plus six years of laboratory experience;\n\nMust have a thorough knowledge of Medical Technology principles, concepts, and methodologies sufficient to perform a broad range of testing. Knowledge of mathematical and statistical methods sufficient to calculate and convert analytical data to test results is required;\nKnowledge and skill sufficient to use and maintain laboratory instrumentation;\nKnowledge of related disciplines to integrate and correlate test results with other laboratory data and clinical information;\nMust be able to produce reliable quality laboratory results under stressful conditions;\nMust be able to perform CPR and update certification as needed;\nMust be able to hear pages, bells, and phone system;\nMust be able to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time (possibly four to seven hours at a time);\nMust be able to lift moderate to heavy items (20-50 lbs.);\nExcellent visual, verbal, written, and typed communications required;\nAbility to prioritize and manage numerous tasks at one time;\nResponsible for understanding and performing work as a Technologist/Technician as outlined in the Lab Technologist/Technician job description;\nMust provide the highest quality medical care and professionalism.\nSalary Range: $39.50 -
