This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in content creation within the healthcare and patient education space. The ideal candidate is a current student or recent graduate with a passion for writing and a keen interest in the editorial process. You will work closely with experienced editors and content creators, contributing to the production of high-quality health information that engages and informs our audience. \nWhat You’ll Do: \nContent Creation: Research and write articles, short-form pieces and other content types in an easy-to-understand, approachable way while following our company style guide. \nResearch: Conduct research on various topics, particularly within the healthcare and patient education sectors, to support content development. \nFact-Checking: Confirm running content is still accurate and up to date by verifying with trusted sources. \nEditorial Support: Provide general support to the editorial team, including reviewing other writers’ content pieces, evaluating content from our partnership organizations and preparing content for publication. \nProofreading: Review content for grammatical errors and style consistency. \nCollaboration: Work with designers to ensure content is visually appealing and helps communicate the content effectively. \nLearning and Development: Participate in professional development meetings to learn basic skills for working in a business environment. \nWhat We Need \nSamples: Include up to 3 samples of writing that showcase your best work. \nEducation: Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field. \nWriting Skills: Strong writing and editing abilities, with preferred experience following a style guide. \nCommunication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with remote and in-person teammates. \nTime Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. \nTechnical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Acrobat; familiarity with content management systems (CMS) is a plus. \nDesired Qualifications: \nHealthcare Interest: An interest in healthcare, wellness or patient education topics, with the desire to create content that positively impacts patient outcomes. \nPrevious Experience: Prior experience in an editorial role (e.g., school newspaper, blog or internship) is preferred but not required. \nAttention to Detail: A meticulous approach to writing and editing, ensuring all content is accurate, polished and ready for publication. \nWhat You'll Need to Succeed:\nCuriosity: A curious mind with a strong desire to learn and grow in the field of editorial content creation. \nProactivity: A proactive attitude, with the initiative to take on tasks independently and contribute ideas to the team. \nCollaboration: Ability to work well within a team environment, collaborating with editors, writers and designers to create effective content for our audiences. \nResilience: The ability to accept constructive feedback and use it to improve your work. \n\nAbout PatientPoint: \n PatientPoint® is the Point of Change company, transforming the healthcare experience through the strategic delivery of behavior-changing content at critical moments of care.
