The team’s mission is to keep Patreon's engineering org fast, and reliable, and ready for an AI-native way of building software.\nThis role location is open to fully Remote or to those who are able to be in-office 3 days per week on a hybrid work model in New York or San Francisco. \nAbout the Team\nYou'll own the roadmap and execution across infrastructure and developer productivity. Balancing \"keep the site up\" reliability work with \"make every engineer faster\" investment - including Patreon's push to make AI-assisted development a durable part of how the org ships code.\nAbout the Role\nManage and grow ICs; own hiring, performance, and career development for your org.\n\nOwn operational excellence: observability standards, on-call structure, incident response, SLAs/SLOs, and Production Readiness Reviews (PRR).\n\nPartner closely with Product Engineering, Security, and Data leaders so infrastructure and tooling decisions don't become a bottleneck for product delivery\n\nDrive the org's AI-enablement strategy - deciding where to standardize tooling/workflows and where to let teams choose their own path\n\nAbout You\nRequired:\n10+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering management, ideally with experience managing managers or senior ICs across multiple teams\n\nDirect experience leading infrastructure, platform, or developer-productivity teams supporting a consumer product at scale\n\nFamiliarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP), Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code tooling\n\nComfort operating scalable production systems with high availability and performance requirements\n\nStrong cross-functional partnership skills; you'll work daily with Product Engineering, Security, and Data leads\n\nNice to Have\nExperience standing up or scaling developer tooling (CI/CD, testing platforms, internal dev environments)\n\nExposure to AI-assisted software development.
