This person will constantly be responsible for successfully integrating safety initiatives into the functional operation of the different projects by maintaining processes and procedures to prevent injuries and violations of the law or company policies and minimize the environmental impact of our operations.\nAbout the role\nWe are looking for a qualified candidate with extensive experience in safety to support our projects. This individual will be responsible for effectively integrating safety initiatives into the operations of various projects. Their duties will include maintaining processes and procedures to prevent injuries and ensure compliance with laws and company policies, while also minimizing the environmental impact of our operations.,\nResponsibilities:\nPreview projects and project sites before work begins to determine safety-related risks.\nVisit active project sites to assess ongoing work conditions to ensure compliance.\nWork with project management teams and field workers to develop and implement solutions to safety-related issues on project sites.\nMaintaining safety-related paperwork, including OSHA 300 logs.\nMaintaining safety training certification, including OSHA OTI.\nTraining company employees on safe work practices.\nDisciplining employees and subcontractors who fail to comply with minimum safety standards.\nSkills Required:\nAbility to listen - the ability to listen well and take in feedback from the employee's perspective without passing judgment.\nKnowledge of OSHA standards and regulations about the specific trade or activity being managed.\nGood recordkeeping abilities - the Construction Safety Manager must be able to maintain good records of all safety-related activities.\nAbility to access heights via ladders or scaffolding. A significant amount of construction work takes place at heights above ground level, which requires the Construction Safety Manager to be able to access the work to evaluate it.\nKnowledge of the specific skilled trade or type of work that their company does.
