During the summer months the role is full-time, but will transition to part-time during the academic year.\nWhat does a typical day look like for an accounting intern?\nShadowing members of the Accounting department as they perform their duties\n\nAssisting with research, data entry, and maintaining accurate and complete financial records\n\nPreparing journal entries and financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, invoices, and other documents\n\nSupporting month-end and quarter-end close activities, including account reconciliations and accruals\n\nAssisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and follow-ups\n\nAnalyzing financial data and flagging variances or discrepancies to the accounting team\n\nWorking with Accounting or ERP software\n\nHelping gather and organize documentation to support internal reviews and external audits\n\nTaking on additional tasks or projects to learn more about accounting and office operations\n\nWhat will I need to thrive in this role?\nCurrently pursuing a degree in Accounting\n\nCompleted coursework in financial accounting, managerial accounting, or related subjects\n\nPossess an understanding of accounting and financial principles and a positive attitude\n\nProficiency with Excel or Google Sheets, including formulas, pivot tables, and lookups\n\nFamiliarity with ERP or accounting software (such as NetSuite, QuickBooks, or SAP) is a plus\n\nDemonstrate strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy\n\nDemonstrate strong organization and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines\n\nDemonstrate collaboration, trustworthiness, receptiveness to feedback, and eagerness to learn\n\nHandle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity\n\nLearn to work as part of the Accounting team to compile and analyze data, track information, and support the company or clients\n\nWhat does high performance look like?\nYou follow through with all assignments in a timely manner\n\nYou give 100% to all tasks and projects assigned to you\n\nYou take full ownership of your projects and follow through to completion\n\nYou double-check your work and catch errors before they reach the team\n\nYou ask thoughtful questions and apply feedback quickly\n\nYou stay organized and meet deadlines during busy periods such as month-end close\n\nWhat is my potential for career growth?\nThis role will provide opportunities for mentorship and networking.
