This internship will work alongside the Settlements team to gain hands-on experience with the financial and operational activities that support Pattern Energy’s renewable energy portfolio. This internship provides an opportunity to develop practical accounting skills while learning how market activity, energy transactions, and financial reporting come together within a renewable energy company.The intern will support settlements activities, assist with data analysis and reconciliations, and collaborate with Accounting and other business partners.\nInternship Accountabilities\nHelp research and document processes within the Settlements Accounting team\nOrganize supporting documentation for accounting data requests.\nCollaborate with Accounting and cross-functional partners to better understand the financial lifecycle of renewable energy transactions.\nComplete a meaningful summer project and present findings and recommendations at the conclusion of the internship\nInternship Learning & Development Opportunities:\nThrough this internship, the Accounting Intern will have the opportunity to:\nApply classroom accounting concepts to real-world renewable energy transactions.\nDevelop practical experience with settlements, reconciliations, invoicing, and financial reporting.\nGain exposure to the connection between commercial energy activity and Accounting\nBuild analytical, Excel, communication, and problem-solving skills while working with an experienced Settlements team.\nQualifications\nEducation/Experience Required\nCurrently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.\nFoundational understanding of accounting principles\nStrong analytical skills and attention to detail.\nComfortable working with data, spreadsheets, and financial information.\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel, with an interest in developing more advanced analytical skills.\nStrong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.\nAbility to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.\nInterest in renewable energy, energy markets, accounting, or financial operations is a plus\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\nThe expected starting pay rate for this role is $26.00 - $28.00 USD/Hour.
