This internship will provide hands-on exposure to the commercial, strategic, and development activities involved in advancing large-scale energy infrastructure. The intern will work alongside members of the Business Development team and cross-functional partners to conduct research and analysis, support project strategy, evaluate development opportunities, and help advance project initiatives.\nInternship Accountabilities\nConduct market, industry, competitive, and regulatory research\nAssist with commercial and financial analyses, including but not limited to: developing presentations, evaluating project opportunities, organizing assumptions, and synthesizing findings.\nResearch regional electricity demand, generation development, transmission needs, and other market drivers that could influence strategy.\nAssist with preparation of internal presentations, project updates, briefing materials, and decision-support analyses for project and company leadership.\nTrack project milestones, development activities, key issues, and follow-up items across functional teams.\nParticipate in team meetings and contribute ideas and analysis to help solve real-world development challenges.\nComplete a meaningful summer project and present findings or recommendations at the conclusion of the internship.\nCollaborate with colleagues across areas such as Development, Transmission, Finance, Regulatory, Engineering, Legal, and other functions as appropriate.\nInternship Learning & Development Opportunities:\nThis internship offers the opportunity to:\nBuild an understanding of the commercial and strategic considerations behind renewable energy and transmission development.\nWork with experienced professionals across multiple disciplines.\nDevelop practical skills in research, financial and commercial analysis, presentation development, and project strategy.\nParticipate in Pattern’s broader Early Careers programming and connect with leaders and interns across the organization.\nQualifications\nEducation/Experience Required\nCurrently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Energy, Environmental Studies, Public Policy, or a related field.\nStrong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to synthesize complex information and communicate key findings clearly.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.\nDemonstrated intellectual curiosity and interest in renewable energy, electricity markets, transmission, infrastructure development, or the energy transition.\nAbility to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.\nStrong organizational skills and attention to detail.\nThe expected starting pay rate for this role is $26.00 - $28.00 USD/Hour.
