This internship will provide hands-on exposure to how power system data, modeling, and analytical tools are used to evaluate the electric grid and support renewable energy development. The intern will work alongside the Grid Integration team to support database development and maintenance, power system modeling, and grid analysis activities. Through this experience, the intern will strengthen technical skills in coding, data analysis, and power systems fundamentals while gaining practical exposure to grid planning and the integration of renewable energy resources.\nInternship Accountabilities\nSupport the development, maintenance, organization, and quality control of databases and datasets used for grid analyses.\nAssist with power system modeling and analytical activities that help the team evaluate transmission systems, interconnection opportunities, and grid conditions.\nSupport the preparation, processing, and analysis of model inputs and outputs.\nUse coding and automation techniques to improve data workflows, analytical processes, and modeling efficiency.\nExplore modern coding approaches to help develop and enhance internal analytical tools and workflows.\nWork with team members to research and evaluate grid planning, transmission, and power market information.\nParticipate in other projects and initiatives based on business needs.\nInternship Learning & Development Opportunities:\nThrough this internship, you will gain hands-on experience supporting real-world grid analysis and renewable energy development while building technical capabilities that can translate into careers in power systems, energy analytics, transmission planning, and grid integration.\nDevelop practical skills in coding, data management, and analytical automation.\nBuild foundational knowledge of power systems, including power flow, circuit theory, transmission systems, and grid planning.\nGain exposure to power system modeling tools, datasets, and analytical workflows\nLearn how technical grid analysis informs renewable energy development and business decisions.\nCollaborate with experienced professionals while contributing to meaningful projects\nQualifications\nEducation/Experience Required\nCurrently pursuing a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Energy Systems, or a related technical field.\nInterest in power systems, renewable energy, transmission, grid planning, or energy markets.\nExposure to programming or scripting languages such as Python, R, or similar tools.\nCoursework in circuit theory, power systems, data analytics, modeling, or a related technical area preferred.\nStrong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to organize and work accurately with technical data.\nCuriosity and willingness to learn new technologies and analytical methods\nStrong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.\nThe expected starting pay rate for this role is $26.00 - $28.00 USD/Hour.
