Our culture supports our values by fostering innovative and critical thinking and a deep belief in living up to our promises.\nHeadquartered in the United States, Pattern has a global portfolio of more than thirty-five power facilities and transmission assets, serving various customers that provide low-cost clean energy to millions of consumers.\nResponsibilities\nJOB PURPOSE\nThis position will have contribute to\nInventory Accounting\nAccounting for intercompany service entities\nAccounting for operating wind and/or solar projects\nAccounting for subject matter/ common cost areas such as land lease and royalty, insurance, maintenance, etc.\nThe incumbent will work closely with other accountants within the accounting group based in Houston and San Francisco, as well as individuals from other groups such as finance, land, legal, asset management, and tax.\nJob Description\nFull accounting and general ledger responsibility including preparation of periodic standalone financial statements for one or more projects or intercompany service entities\nFull accounting and general ledger responsibility for inventory and the cross-functional dependencies.\nReview and approve journal entries, reconciliations and invoices prepared by Senior Operators & Operations Accountants\nSupport annual budget preparation and monthly forecast updates.\nHands-on use, data entry and navigation of Pattern’s general ledger, and reporting software (Microsoft Dynamics 365, Oracle, and Power BI). \nSupport Operators & Operations Accounting Manager in preparing deliverables, reports & presentations to senior leadership and key stakeholder\nRead, interpret, and summarize project contracts to assure proper compliance and accounting.\nEnsure that monthly, quarterly, year-end, and special project deadlines and requirements are met.\nAdhere to internal controls.\nSet-up and maintain the accounting and permanent files for existing and new projects.\nPerform accounting research as needed.\nCommunicate with Pattern domestic offices, third parties and within the accounting group to coordinate information gathering and resolve accounting issues.\nSpecial projects as needed\nQualifications\nEducational Requirements A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent major required.\nWork Experience The following criteria will be used as a basis for Pattern to select a qualified applicant:\nMinimum of 5 to 8 years of relevant accounting experience\nFamiliarity with Sarbanes Oxley requirements\nThe following experience is preferred:\nRenewable energy industry experience\n Power plant accounting\nAccounting experience at a US public company\nConsolidation, equity-method accounting with minority interests\nInternational accounting experience\nAdditional Requirements\nMust possess strengths in the following:\nStrong \"hands on\" technical skills with attention to detail.\nStrong technical and analytical accounting background and familiarity or experience with complex accounting issues, consolidations, US GAAP and IFRS issues, foreign currency translation, multiple corporate structures, equity, and investment accounting.\nCommitment, ability, and prior experience in meeting deadlines for monthly and quarterly reporting, and special projects; preparing thorough and complete analyses and reconciliations with appropriate documentation and follow-up.\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage a demanding workload involving multiple tasks, responsibilities and deadlines with professional follow-through and minimal supervision.\nSelf-starter with flexibility, desire, and eagerness to learn and assume new responsibilities while maintaining ownership of the projects.\nStrong interpersonal, writing and communication skills. Must be able to meet with and participate in Operations meetings and be well versed in the project contracts to contribute to these meetings.\nAbility to build and maintain consensus within a team.\nFocus on tasks, goals, and issues internal as well as external to the area of responsibility and participates in cross-functional initiatives.\nIdentify areas for process improvement. Proactively provide recommendations for solutions\nTechnical Skills\nComputer skills - Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).\nReporting software (Oracle, SAP, and Power BI).\nThe expected starting pay range for this role is $89,000 - $112,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
