Our culture supports our values by fostering innovative and critical thinking and a deep belief in living up to our promises.\nHeadquartered in the United States, Pattern has a global portfolio of more than 46 power facilities and transmission assets, serving various customers that provide low-cost clean energy to millions of consumers.\nResponsibilities\nJob Purpose\nThe Senior Project Controller is responsible for leading project controls, financial oversight, forecasting, and financial performance reporting for large-scale renewable energy capital projects and programs. This role ensures effective cost management, cash flow forecasting, and compliance with financial-related financing and governance requirements across the project lifecycle.\nThe position works closely with project management, engineering, construction, procurement, finance, and executive leadership to support successful delivery of capital renewable energy projects.\nKey Accountabilities\nThe key responsibilities will include as a minimum the following:\nOversee Engineering, Procurement and Construction (\"EPC\"), construction, supplier, and consulting agreements to ensure compliance with financial requirements, budget alignment, and effective cost control across capital projects.\nAbility to work within a dynamic multiple discipline working environment and support in the negotiation and development of EPC agreements, supplier agreements and change management processes.\nManage commitments, change orders, invoices, and payment applications while supporting claims management and accurate project cost reporting.\nLead the maintenance of project controls systems and cost reporting to support accurate tracking of project performance and financial outcomes.\nDevelop executive-level reports and dashboards while driving continuous improvement in project controls governance, reporting standards, and data integrity.\nSupport project financing activities including financial close requirements, lender reporting, funding requests, and cash flow tracking, for renewable energy capital projects.\nCoordinate with multiple stakeholders to support financial compliance and capital forecasting.\nLead project controls activities for renewable energy capital projects including cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.\nEstablish and maintain project budgets, cost baselines, cost control, cash flow forecasts, and contingency tracking throughout the project life cycle.\nPerform variance analyses and provide recommendations to mitigate cost and project delivery risks throughout the project lifecycle, supporting risk management activities as required.\nAdvanced understanding of project controls capability and maturity assessments.\nStrong understanding and ability to analyze earned value management (EVM) and key performance indicator (KPI) performance.\nGood understanding of financial-related construction contract concepts, language, requirements and terms.\nExperience working on major capital projects/programs with familiarity with activities, stage gate process and management.\nAble to lead and guide best practice solutions in the development of cost controls and cost-related performance processes and digital solutions.\nAbility to mentor and develop project controls personnel while promoting best practices and technical competency development.\nStrong communication skills and ability to liaise across multidisciplinary teams, including Business Development, Finance, Accounting, Contracts Management, Project Management groups and external counterparties.\nExperience managing project controls activities across multiple projects or large capital programs within a construction and procurement environment.\nSupport cost-related project governance reviews/audits, stage gate approvals, and executive decision-making processes throughout the project lifecycle. \nQualifications\nExperience/Qualifications/Education\nEducational Experience\n5-10 years of construction and/or procurement project controls experience within major capital and infrastructure projects.\nDegree qualification or equivalent in Construction Management, Engineering, Finance, Quantity Surveying, Project Management or related field.\nAdditional Requirements\nExcellent analytical and cost control skills.\nExperience within renewable energy sectors is highly desirable.\nStrong organizational, analytical, and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.\nStrong and proven understanding of project controls principles, including cost control, forecasting, earned value management (EVM), and project performance reporting.\nTechnical Skills\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office suite.\nExperience with ERP and project management systems (e.g., Oracle, Power BI, D365, InEight, Procure, SAP) preferred.\nThe expected starting pay range for this role is $103,000 - $138,000 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
