This role partners with Vendor Management, Category Management, Marketing, Finance, Sales, and executive leadership to transform enterprise data into actionable insights that improve vendor, product, customer, and commercial performance.\nThe ideal candidate combines strong technical analytics skills with business and financial acumen and can translate complex data into clear recommendations for both business leaders and technical teams.\nIdeal candidate will work in a hybrid capacity for the office in St. Paul, MN\nKey Responsibilities\nBusiness Intelligence & Analytics\nDevelop scalable reporting, dashboards, visualizations, and analytics solutions using enterprise data.\n\nPartner with business leaders to understand requirements, identifyanalytics gaps, and deliver actionable insights.\n\nIndependently query, analyze, and interpret complex data using SQL and BI tools.Strong Data Fulfillment experience/knowledge\n\nReplace manual spreadsheet-based reporting with automated, scalable, and self-service solutions.\n\nPerform ad hoc analysis, data mining, and trend analysis to identify opportunities and risks.\n\nVendor, Product & Commercial Performance\nAnalyze vendor, product, pricing, revenue, margin, volume, cost, and product-mix performance.\n\nDevelop analytics supporting vendor management, category management, and commercial decisions.\n\nAnalyze vendor rebates, incentives, and other commercial programs.\n\nProvide insights into customer acquisition, promotions, and marketing performance.\n\nIdentifykey drivers of performance and translate findings into business recommendations.\n\nAI & Innovation\nSupport the adoption of AI-enabled analytics and emerging BI/data capabilities.\n\nExplore opportunities to leverage GenAI, analytical copilots, and automation to improve reporting and decision-making.\n\nHelp advance Patterson’s overall analyticsmaturity and self-service capabilities.\n\nBusiness Partnership & Communication\nWork closely with cross-functional teams and senior leadership to address business questions and opportunities.\n\nCommunicate analytical findings through clear, executive-level presentations and detailed visualizations.\n\nParticipate in larger cross-functional initiatives and continuously improve analytics processes and solutions.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in BusinessAnalytics, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.\n\n5+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, commercial analysis, financial analysis, or a relatedfield.\n\nStrong SQL and advanced Excel skills.\n\nExperience with Power BI or a comparable BI/reporting platform.\n\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, data visualization, and data storytelling skills.\n\nUnderstanding ofbusiness and financial measures such as revenue, gross profit, margin, price, volume, cost, and product mix.\n\nAbility to translate complex data into actionable business recommendations.\n\nStrong communicationand relationship-building skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.\n\nFamiliarity with AI-enabled analytics and modern data platforms.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with vendor, supplier, category, product, pricing, promotional, rebate, or commercial analytics.\n\nExperience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Databricks, Power BI semantic models, or DAX.\n\nExperience with GenAI, analytical copilots, or AI-enabled BI platforms.\n\nExperience working with third-party market or competitive data.\n\nExperience in distribution, manufacturing, healthcare, dental/medical device, CPG, retail, or other product-intensive industries.\n\nSuccess in This Role\nSuccess will be measured by reducing manual reporting, increasing automated and self-service analytics, improving visibility into vendor/product/customer performance, accelerating executive reporting, and delivering actionable insights that influence vendor, category, marketing, and commercial decisions.\nWorking Conditions\nPhysical Demands\nOperating a computer or other office devices for the majority ofthe workday\n\nMay occasionally need to move packages up to 10 pounds such as office supplies or equipment\n\nMust be able to communicate with others in person, over the phone, and in writing.\n\nMust be able to understand and effectively exchange accurateinformation with others such as coworkers, customersand vendors\n\nMust be able to read and interpret various electronic and written documents\n\nEnvironmental Factors\nThis position is in an office environment in which team members occupy desks in assigned areas or at meeting/collaboration spaces within the building.
