GAAP, Month-End Close & Multi-Entity Accounting | Remote\nPosition Type: Full-Time, Remote\nWorking Hours: U.S. Business Hours\nAbout the Role\nAt Pavago, one of our clients is hiring an experienced Accounting Manager to own financial reporting, month-end close, payroll, compliance, and core accounting operations across complex client accounts.\nThis is not a bookkeeping or data-entry role.\nYou’ll take hands-on ownership of:\nMonth-end close\nGAAP financial reporting\nAccrual accounting\nPayroll\nAP & AR\nGeneral Ledger and reconciliations\nU.S. sales tax\nMulti-entity accounting\nFinancial reporting and analysis\nThis role is ideal for someone who understands accounting deeply, thrives in structured environments, and takes pride in keeping financial operations accurate, compliant, and organized.\nWhat You’ll Own\nMonth-End Close & Financial Reporting\nOwn accurate and timely month-end close processes\nPrepare and maintain:\nP&L statements\nBalance sheets\nCash flow reports\nSupporting schedules\nPrepare and review journal entries and reconciliations\nEnsure financial reporting aligns with GAAP standards\nMaintain clean, structured, and audit-ready workpapers\nMeet client and internal reporting deadlines consistently\nCore Accounting Operations\nOversee:\nAccounts Payable (AP)\nAccounts Receivable (AR)\nGeneral Ledger\nAccount reconciliations\nDay-to-day accounting activity\nYou’ll also:\nMaintain accurate books across multiple entities, locations, or business segments\nInvestigate and resolve accounting discrepancies\nEnsure accounting systems remain clean and organized\nMaintain strong financial controls and documentation\nPayroll & Employee Setup\nProcess payroll using platforms such as:\nGusto\nPaylocity\nADP\nResponsibilities include:\nEmployee setup and onboarding within payroll systems\nPayroll processing and validation\nAdjustments and deductions\nReimbursements\nPayroll reporting\nDocumentation and compliance\nU.S. Sales Tax & Compliance\nCalculate and file U.S. state sales tax\nTrack filing deadlines and requirements\nMaintain organized compliance documentation\nEnsure adherence to accounting policies and financial procedures\nSupport audits and compliance requests as needed\nFinancial Reporting, Analysis & Forecasting\nBuild custom financial reports and dashboards\nSupport budgeting and forecasting\nPerform variance analysis\nProvide financial insights to leadership\nUse Excel and reporting tools to improve financial visibility\nHelp translate accounting data into useful business information\nProcess Improvement & Documentation\nReview accounting workflows and identify inefficiencies\nStandardize processes across clients and systems\nImprove workflows through:\nAutomation\nTemplates\nDocumentation\nBuild and maintain accounting SOPs\nImprove scalability without sacrificing financial accuracy\nClient & Leadership Coordination\nCommunicate regularly with leadership regarding priorities and deliverables\nMaintain visibility around reporting timelines\nSupport client-facing accounting communication when required\nCoordinate across accounting, payroll, finance, and operational workflows\nProactively flag issues before they become larger problems\nRequirements -
