detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to manage end-to-end U.S. payroll processing, payroll accounting, tax compliance, and reconciliations.\nYou’ll be responsible for ensuring 50-500 employees are paid accurately and on time, payroll taxes are properly handled, and all payroll records remain clean, compliant, and audit-ready.\nThis role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in ADP, Gusto, Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll, or similar payroll systems who understands both payroll processing and the accounting behind it.\nWhat You’ll Own\nU.S. Payroll Processing\nProcess bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly payrolls\nManage payroll for approximately 50-500 employees\nReview and validate:\nTime entries and overtime\nBonuses and commissions\nDeductions and adjustments\nNew hires and terminations\nProcess payroll through ADP, Gusto, Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll, or BambooHR\nEnsure payroll is accurate and completed on schedule\nPayroll Accounting & Reconciliations\nPrepare and post payroll journal entries\nReconcile payroll clearing accounts, bank activity, and general ledger balances\nAccurately record benefits, deductions, taxes, and employer contributions\nWork with accounting platforms including QuickBooks, NetSuite, or Xero\nInvestigate and resolve payroll discrepancies quickly\nPayroll Tax & Compliance\nManage federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements\nSupport preparation and filing of:\nForm 941\nW-2s\n1099s\nApplicable state and local filings\nMaintain accurate compliance documentation\nStay current with U.S. payroll regulations and filing requirements\nBenefits & Employee Support\nReconcile healthcare, retirement, and other benefit contributions\nVerify payroll deductions against employee elections\nSupport new-hire payroll setup and onboarding\nRespond professionally to questions involving pay stubs, direct deposits, deductions, and tax updates\nPayroll Reporting\nPrepare payroll, headcount, and variance reports\nProvide payroll data to finance and HR teams\nSupport audits with accurate payroll documentation\nAnalyze payroll results against budgets when required\nProcess Improvement\nDocument and maintain payroll SOPs\nIdentify opportunities to improve payroll accuracy and efficiency\nUse Excel, integrations, and automation to streamline workflows\nRequirements\n2+ years of payroll processing experience\nStrong hands-on experience with at least one:\nADP\nGusto\nPaychex\nQuickBooks Payroll\nBambooHR\nStrong understanding of U.S. payroll taxes and compliance\nExperience with payroll journal entries and reconciliations\nIntermediate Excel / Google Sheets skills, including:\nPivot Tables\nVLOOKUP\nReconciliations\nHigh attention to detail and numerical accuracy\nAbility to investigate and resolve discrepancies quickly\nStrong organizational and deadline-management skills\nComfortable working remotely during U.S. business hours\nNice to Have\n Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC)\nMulti-state payroll experience\nInternational payroll exposure\nExperience reconciling payroll to accounting systems\nNetSuite or Xero experience\nFamiliarity with HRIS integrations such as BambooHR, Workday, or Zenefits\nTools & Systems\nPayroll: ADP, Gusto, Paychex, QuickBooks Payroll, BambooHR\nAccounting: QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero\nReporting: Excel,
