You’ll design reliable backend systems, work closely with product, and make thoughtful technical decisions that balance scalability, performance, and business needs.\nKey Responsibilities\nBackend Systems & APIs\nDesign, build, and ship resilient backend services.\nDevelop and maintain scalable APIs and data-layer infrastructure.\nWork with PostgreSQL and background job systems.\nBuild systems capable of handling high volumes of daily events.\nImplement pragmatic testing practices to maintain reliability and code quality.\nObservability & Reliability\nBuild and maintain effective observability across backend services.\nIdentify and address reliability, performance, and scalability issues.\nEnsure backend systems remain resilient as the platform scales.\nProduct Collaboration\nPartner closely with product teams to define scope and technical tradeoffs.\nUnderstand the business purpose behind technical requirements and contribute to product decisions.\nBalance engineering quality with practical delivery timelines.\nRequired Experience & Skills\n5+ years of experience building and shipping backend systems in production.\nStrong proficiency in Python or Go.\nStrong SQL skills and experience working with PostgreSQL.\nExperience designing and maintaining production APIs and backend services.\nStrong understanding of background jobs and asynchronous processing.\nPractical approach to testing and software quality.\nExperience building reliable, scalable systems.\nStrong problem-solving and technical decision-making skills.\nAbility to collaborate effectively with product and cross-functional teams.\nNice to Have\nExperience working with high-volume event pipelines.\nExperience designing systems that process large volumes of daily events.\nUnderstanding of GDPR-minded data handling and privacy-conscious system design.\nExperience working in environments scaling from thousands to millions of daily events.\nInterview
