About the Role
At Pavago, one of our clients is hiring a Shopify Web Developer / Store Builder to build, customize, and maintain premium Shopify storefronts for B2B clients while leading the complete redesign of the company’s primary website.
This is a hands-on development role focused on creating high-performing, visually polished, responsive, and conversion-optimized Shopify stores. You’ll work across custom theme development, front-end implementation, product and collection configuration, third-party integrations, performance optimization, and eCommerce UX.
You’ll also collaborate closely with designers to translate Figma designs into fully functional Shopify storefronts using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

What You’ll Own
Shopify Store Development
- Build custom Shopify storefronts from the ground up using client branding and design assets
- Customize Shopify themes to create premium, conversion-focused online stores
- Configure and maintain:
- Product catalogs
- Collections
- Inventory
- Store settings
- Ensure storefronts are responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile
- Optimize storefronts for speed and mobile performance
- Maintain consistent functionality and design quality across multiple Shopify builds
- Build production-ready storefronts aligned with client requirements
Website Redesign & Optimization
- Lead the complete redesign and rebrand of the company’s primary Shopify website
- Improve:
- User experience
- Site navigation
- Visual hierarchy
- Mobile usability
- Conversion performance
- Implement modern design standards while maintaining brand consistency
- Optimize website speed, usability, and accessibility across devices
- Translate updated branding into a cohesive digital storefront
- Identify and resolve areas of friction across the customer journey
Theme Customization & Development
- Develop and customize Shopify themes using:
- Liquid
- HTML
- CSS
- JavaScript
- Implement advanced store functionality through custom development when needed
- Configure:
- Access controls
- Gated collections
- Gift codes
- Purchase restrictions
- Use Shopify apps or custom logic to support specialized requirements
- Integrate third-party Shopify applications
- Troubleshoot theme, application, and storefront issues
- Maintain clean and scalable front-end code
eCommerce UX & Conversion Optimization
- Apply eCommerce UX and Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) principles throughout development
- Build intuitive navigation and purchasing experiences
- Optimize customer journeys to reduce unnecessary friction
- Balance visual design with usability and conversion objectives
- Maintain strong responsive design standards
- Improve page speed and overall storefront performance
- Ensure consistent experiences across devices
Collaboration & Project Management
- Collaborate with designers to translate Figma designs into fully functional Shopify stores
- Work closely with internal teams to deliver projects within agreed timelines
- Manage multiple Shopify builds simultaneously
- Maintain quality while balancing multiple priorities
- Communicate project progress and blockers through Slack and other collaboration tools
- Take ownership of projects through development, testing, and launch
- Collaborate effectively within a remote and asynchronous environment
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience
- Strong proficiency in Shopify Liquid templating language
- Advanced front-end development skills using:
- HTML
- CSS
- JavaScript
- Experience building custom Shopify themes or performing extensive theme customization
- Proven experience leading complete website redesigns or rebranding projects
- Strong understanding of:
- eCommerce UX
- Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)
- Responsive design
- Mobile optimization
- Experience managing:
- Product catalogs
- Collections
- Inventory
- Shopify store configurations
- Portfolio showcasing modern, high-quality Shopify storefronts
- Experience working with Slack, Google Workspace, and asynchronous communication
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple projects
- Availability during U.S. business hours

What a Typical Day Looks Like
Your day may involve building and customizing Shopify storefronts for multiple clients, developing theme functionality using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, or working on the redesign of the company’s primary website.
Throughout the day, you could collaborate with designers to implement new Figma layouts, configure products and collections, integrate third-party Shopify applications, or troubleshoot storefront functionality.
You’ll also improve website performance, responsiveness, usability, and conversion rates while keeping the team informed of progress and blockers through Slack.
