We're seeking a dependable, hardworking team player to join our Event Services team. \nWhether you already work in events, concerts, film, theatre, or are interested in building experience in the skilled trades, this is a great opportunity to earn extra income while gaining hands-on experience behind the scenes of some of the Vancouver's most exciting events. \nWorking with the Senior Manager and Assistant Manager, Event Technical Services, the Event Technician will provide strong organizational and administrative skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. \nYou will assist in coordinating event schedules and team assignments, preparing cost estimates, resolving client and exhibitor billing and service inquiries, and review electrical and plumbing work orders and floor plans.\nHours are based on event requirements. Shifts are a minimum of 8 hours and may be scheduled anytime between 6:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m. (midnight).\nAs events often take place outside of regular business hours, preference will be given to candidates who can work nights and weekends.\n\nHourly Rate: $27.01 + 8% on top in lieu of vacation.\nHours may not align with transit hours, primarily on a Sunday.\n\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nWork individually and as part of a team assisting the technicians with electrical and plumbing installations for various events\nCollect, sort, and restock electrical, compressed air, and plumbing equipment\nMaintain the cleanliness and organization of the shop and work areas to a high standard\nAssist with maintaining an inventory list of tools and equipment \nto review and ensure electrical and plumbing documents including work orders and floor plans are complete and have clear and correct information\nReview all current and future events, functions and work orders for the purpose of scheduling the team based on event requirements and provides vacation coverage to the Manager required.\nInstall basic electrical, compressed air, and plumbing services (under supervision)\nWork within tight deadlines and under pressure to complete requirements safely and to standards\nAdhere to all work safety regulations and practices and maintain a safe working environment\nWork closely with Event Technicians to support the setup, maintenance, and breakdown of event services\nPerform other related duties as required\nAble to lift up to 50 lbs by yourself and up to 110 lbs with the assistance of a 2nd person\nAssist with light administrative duties as needed\n\nEDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE\nHigh school certification or equivalent\nMinimum 1-year experience in the event industry or skilled trades\nLPEC (Live Performance Electrical Certification) preferred or must be able to obtain within 8 months of start date\nStrong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook and similar business software\nCustomer service experience dealing directly with clients is an asset\nValid forklift and scissor lift certification are an asset\nInterest in the event and customer service industry is an asset\nStrong work ethic and great customer service skills\nDemonstrated effective communication skills including ability to follow instructions and direction\nMaintain a safety sensitive environment, proactively identifying safety concerns, and manage/report accordingly\nProven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as well the ability to work effectively in a team environment, with tight deadlines\nWork is performed primarily indoors; however, must be mentally and physically able to deal with exposure to seasonal heat and cold in an outdoor and indoor environment, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull medium weights up to 50 lbs on your own.\nMust be available to work various shifts including mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays as needed\nInterest in a skilled trades career is an asset; electrical training and hours can be counted towards Live Performance Entertainment Certificate (LPEC) practical work experience\nWe Appreciate Your Interest in PavCo and This Position\nAt PavCo, we are committed to building high-performance teams.
