Full time\nAbout the Role\nEvery day, pet owners walk out of a vet's office having just said no to a treatment their pet needed, not because they didn't care, but because they couldn't afford it. Pawlicy Advisor exists to eliminate this problem. Pawlicy Advisor is a profitable venture-backed startup building the infrastructure that connects pet owners to the right financial protection for their pets, starting with the most trusted pet insurance marketplace in the US, distributed through thousands of veterinary practices nationwide. The company has delivered over 1 million unique quotes, has raised $19M+, has found product-market fit, and is now scaling. Pawlicy Advisor is hiring a Senior Product Manager to own day-to-day product execution: what gets built, why, and how success is measured. You will own the backlog, design and analyze the A/B tests that drive conversion and revenue, and be the product voice with the insurance carriers and partners that power the marketplace. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, on an outstanding team of five engineers, a data analyst, a senior product designer, and an engineering manager.\nWhat You Own\nProduct Prioritization\nDetermine what engineering builds each sprint, prioritizing features, experiments, tech debt, and requests by expected impact vs effort.\nOrganize and define the backlog, keeping it refined and keeping engineering focused on the highest priority items.\nWrite well-scoped tasks with clear requirements and acceptance criteria.\nTriage incoming bugs: assess severity, reproduce, prioritize, and route to the right owner.\nProduct Development\nSet requirements for A/B tests, build dashboards to monitor results, call statistical significance, and decide ship, iterate, or kill.\nWrite product one pagers framing the problem, opportunity, proposed solution, and success metrics before work is committed.\nEnsure timelines are met for key projects and features.\nKeep internal stakeholders updated on project progress, priorities, and data results, including the roadmap and reasoning behind next steps.\nPartner with design on user research and competitive analysis.\nPartnership Support\nWork closely with each insurance carrier partner to handle outstanding requests, integration changes, and performance reporting.\nRepresent Product in D2C and vet partnerships to scale the business and outline timelines. \nProactively identify new business and Product opportunities by contextualizing partner needs with internal OKRs, learnings and roadmaps.\nManage the partner report intake process for off-site policy attribution.\nWhere You Partner\nEngineering: sprint scope, priorities, and delivery with the engineering manager; tasks scoped so engineers can build without a meeting.\nDesign: user research and competitive analysis with the senior product designer.\nData and analytics: experiment design, dashboards, and significance calls with the data analyst in Mixpanel.\nPartnerships and leadership: carrier requests, integration changes, performance reporting, and strategizing on opportunities alongside the Partnerships lead and the CEO.\nWhat Success Looks Like\nFirst 90 days\nThe backlog is refined, prioritized by impact vs effort, and engineering is focused on the highest priority items.\nThe A/B testing cadence is running: requirements, dashboards, significance calls, and ship, iterate, or kill decisions.\nInitial product roadmap based on OKRs for the company is shared with the team\nStakeholders receive regular updates on progress, priorities, and data results, including the roadmap doc.\nFirst 12 months\nConversion is measurably improved, with a documented record of tests shipped, iterated, and killed.\nCarrier partners treat product as a responsive, trusted counterpart.\nSpecs and one pagers set the bar: engineers build from them without a meeting.\nUser research runs continuously and changes what gets built.\nProduct OKR reporting is consistently transparent, dependable, and easily accessible \nPawlicy team members understand Pawlicy’s Product roadmap and annual Product plans\nRequirements\n5-7 years of product management experience, ideally at an early stage startup or fast-moving environment.\nExperience optimizing conversion in a B2B2C platform or marketplace: you understand the funnel, the levers, and how to move them.\nDeep fluency with A/B testing, from designing experiments to extracting real signal from results (Mixpanel or similar analytics experience a plus).\nA track record of ruthless data- and OKR-driven prioritization and decision making.\nStrong external communication skills: comfortable owning relationships with enterprise partners and representing Product in external conversations.\nA genuine love of user research: you talk to users a lot, and let those conversations change your mind.\nLegally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.\nMust be based in the USA.\nPreferred: experience in insurance or fintech. Extra points if you love animals and believe pet healthcare is a serious, underserved problem.\nHow You Work\nYou do your best work with real autonomy: you set your own agenda as the only PM, with no one checking your work daily.\nYou ship things that started as your own idea and generate roadmaps rather than inherit them.\nYou hold strong opinions, loosely held: a clear point of view on how to solve user problems without being precious about it.\nYou push back, disagree, and align without it becoming political.\nYou thrive in a high pace environment.\nYou use AI tools daily to compound the company’s output.\nAI and the Hiring Process\nWe embrace AI at Pawlicy and our work still relies on what the humans bring to it.\nSo please leave the AI out of interviews and case studies. Prep with it all you like, but in the room, we want your thinking, your questions, your judgment. These stages exist so we can get to know you and how you'd work with our team. We're hiring you, not a model and it is you we want to see.\nTo be concrete: no AI assistants or chatbots on any device during interviews, and nobody else feeding you answers. Spell-check, autocomplete and notes you wrote yourself are all completely fine.\nIf it turns out AI was used where we've asked you not to, it may end your candidacy.\nIf any part of our process is a barrier because of how you read, write or communicate, email before that stage and we'll talk through the options. The skills we're assessing stay the same; what changes is the format. Asking has no bearing on how we assess you.\nBenefits\nBase salary range: $165,000 to $200,000.\nStartup equity grant.\nTop-tier medical, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k) employer contributions; flexible vacation.\nRemote-first within the United States.\nCareer Path\nThis role is the only product manager seat at a company of ~20 today, growing to 25-30 in 2027, reporting directly to the Chief Product Officer, with a path to product leadership as the team scales. Founded in 2018 and headquartered in NYC, Pawlicy Advisor is a licensed insurance agency and the leading pet insurance marketplace in the US.\nIf you do your best work with real autonomy, thrive in a high pace environment, and deeply understand users, Pawlicy would like to talk.
