About Paxos

Today’s financial infrastructure is archaic, expensive, inefficient and risky - supporting a system that leaves out more people than it lets in. So we’re rebuilding it.

We’re on a mission to open the world’s financial system to everyone by enabling the instant movement of any asset, any time, in a trustworthy way. For over a decade, we’ve built blockchain infrastructure that tokenizes, custodies, trades and settles assets for the world's leading financial institutions, like PayPal, Venmo, Mastercard, Interactive Brokers and Charles Schwab.

About the team

The Compliance team at Paxos plays a vital role in ensuring the company adheres to global regulatory standards across financial products and services. This team tackles complex challenges such as AML, sanctions, and transaction monitoring, all while ensuring a robust compliance framework in a rapidly evolving crypto and fintech landscape. By safeguarding Paxos against regulatory risks, the team is essential in helping the company achieve its mission of creating a more transparent and efficient financial ecosystem.

About the role

The Compliance KYC Manager will lead a team responsible for customer onboarding and ongoing due diligence, combining deep KYC expertise with hands-on operational leadership. Working alongside associates, the manager will review complex cases, resolve escalations, and coach sound, risk-based decision-making while managing queue performance, quality, and capacity. The role also provides senior management with clear reporting on operational performance, remediation progress, emerging risks, and resource needs.

What you'll do

  • Be hands-on in complex case reviews and escalations, applying sound, risk-based judgment and ensuring decisions are clearly documented.

  • Manage and develop the KYC team through coaching, training, performance feedback, and capacity planning across operational and project commitments.

  • Own and maintain policies, procedures, and operational guidance, ensuring they reflect applicable requirements and support consistent execution.

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, and business teams to resolve challenges, evaluate creative and practical solutions, and communicate priorities, dependencies, and trade-offs.

  • Build and maintain relationships with Paxos’ enterprise partners and customers and their Compliance teams.

  • Identify control gaps and lead issue remediation, including root cause analysis, corrective action planning, implementation, evidence retention, and validation support.

  • Participate in internal and external audits and regulatory examinations, preparing documentation, explaining processes and controls, and coordinating timely, accurate responses.

  • Manage KYC vendor relationships, including service performance, issue escalation, capability assessments, and coordination of enhancements.

  • Drive improvements to KYC tooling and workflows, defining requirements, supporting user acceptance testing, and ensuring successful implementation and team adoption.

  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and control effectiveness through automation and appropriately governed AI use.

  • Develop and report operational metrics to senior management, highlighting performance trends, quality, backlog aging, remediation progress, emerging risks, and resource needs.
